On June 16, 2026, the John Gokongwei School of Management (JGSOM) had the Testimonial Ceremony in the Leong Hall Auditorium. This annual tradition serves to recognize and celebrate our exceptional graduates who have consistently demonstrated exemplary academic performance, inspiring leadership, and humble service throughout their time in the Ateneo.

The BS Restaurant Entrepreneurship (BS REnt) program is proud to announce new international internship opportunities in Spain and New Zealand. These programs will offer graduating students specialized training in culinary skills, kitchen leadership, and dining management.

To solidify this collaboration, BS REnt Internship Coordinator Mr. Leo Vergara met with the Placement International executive team at their Barcelona headquarters.

Thank you to CEO Thomas Riveyran, Mr. Bala Subramani (Placement Manager for South Asia & Europe), and Ms. Eliza Ke (Education Advisor) for a highly productive discussion.

Great things are ahead for our future restaurant entrepreneurs, both enrolled seniors and alumni!

Today, the BS REnt STA students visited the European Parliament in Strasbourg, the largest parliamentary institution in Europe. During the visit, they gained insights on EU policies, democratic decision-making, and the importance of cooperation among member states.

With over 27 countries that are part of the parliament, they expect two new countries to join by 2029.

This was a truly enriching experience that broadened their global perspective beyond the classroom.

Today the BSREnt STA students went to LABBB Bieres Brassers sur place Brewery, a premier beer making facility in Cronenbourg.

Here the students were given a tour of the facility and brew kettles. Led by Master Brewer Patrick they were shown the technical process of beer making from the concassage, emptage, ebullition, fermentation, maturation, all the way to the degustation.

They also learned the sustainable waste management and environmental practices, where some of the excess hops is used to feed the cows in the area.

Afterwards, the students tasted some of their specialty beers such as the 5% blonde, Mirage 5% India Pale Lager, Shaman 8% double IPA and Red Sour Raspberry flavored beer which is only one of the two flavored beers they sell in the entire brewery.

The Ateneo Socio-Civic Engagement for National Development (ASCEND) Awards was held last June 5 at the Escaler Hall, Ateneo de Manila University

The awards recognized outstanding students from Ateneo Senior High School and Higher Education, selected from the pool of finalists, whose projects and research demonstrate academic excellence and critical thinking while actively engaging communities beyond Ateneo to contribute to national development.

The finalists were able to showcase their innovative projects and research, fostering collaboration and best-practice sharing for sustainable development in the Philippines.

The awards ceremony was made even more festive by the generosity of the food, beverage and token sponsors: Global Pacific, Farm Fresh and Rebisco, coordinated by Chef Annalisa Margarita Mariano-Diaz, program director of the BS REnt program and the panelist representing JGSOM, and Atty Sab Montiel, from the ASCEND organizing committee.

Guests were able to enjoy Banquet D' Or pastries, a variety of spreads from La Ricetta, DLA La Fruta, as well as Pro Chiz cheeses. Farm Fresh also provided banana and strawberry milk, and Eazy and Rebisco provided lootbags for the finalists as well as the partner communities.

On Saturday, June 6, 2026, the BS REnt - STA 2026 students dined in Restaurant Gurtlerhoft in Strasbourg.
Located adjacent to the historic Strasbourg Cathedral, it is in a 12th-century underground vaulted stone cellar.

The students sampled authentic Alsatian gastronomy, including classic dishes like Traditional Tarte FlambΓ©e (Flammekueche), Choucroute Gurtlerhoft and Baeckeoffe Maison.

The group also enjoyed a scenic stroll through the historic, picturesque streets of the city. ✨🏰

On June 5, the BSREnt STA 2026 participants visited Domaine Karcher, a historic 1602 winery in Colmar, where they enjoyed a cellar tour, a wine tasting, and bought local Alsatian wines.

Guided by Ms. Celine, they experienced more French culture over lunch at the MarchΓ© Couvert, trying local cheeses and artisanal pastries.

The students then explored Colmar's famous colorful houses and scenic canals before ending their day at the Hansi Museum, where they discovered the city's history through the artwork of Jean-Jacques Waltz.

From Manila to Strasbourg! πŸ‡΅πŸ‡­ ➑️ πŸ‡«πŸ‡·

The 2026 BS REnt Summer Term Abroad has officially begun! The incoming Sophomores and Juniors just wrapped up their first big milestone at ICAM – Strasbourg Campus.

Together with Mr. Leofel Vergara, they represented JGSOM Ateneo de Manila University, giving their new French peers a glimpse of Ateneo excellence.

At the same time they experienced a taste of what its like to be an Icam student as presented by their peers, guided by Ms.Celine Guerin. The students were also toured around Icam Site de Strasbourg and were able to meet their professors for the upcoming weeks.

The students also enjoyed a welcome lunch of the Alsatian classic Tarte Flambee' from Stud city, where they will be staying for the next 3 weeks.

Join the students as they embark on their academic journey to learn more about ICAM’s lean management program, to transform the restaurant landscape in the Philippines!
