𝗣𝗨𝗕𝗟𝗜𝗖 𝗔𝗗𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗢𝗥𝗬 | Pursuant to Memorandum Circular No. 114, s. 2026, directing all government agencies and instrumentalities to adopt appropriate energy conservation protocols, the Davao del Sur State College, through Memorandum No. 09-2026-40, informs students, employees, and the public of the adoption of revised work and class arrangements.

Effective October 2, 2026, the following arrangements are being observed:

- Administrative and Finance offices will report on-site from Monday to Thursday, while Fridays will be observed under a Work From Home (WFH) arrangement.

- Classes from Monday to Thursday will continue to be conducted face-to-face following the approved schedules. However, classes scheduled before 8:00 AM or beyond 5:00 PM may shift to online modality when feasible to support energy conservation efforts.

- Classes scheduled on Fridays and Saturdays for NSTP, Physical Education, and laboratory courses, will continue to be conducted on-site as scheduled.

- For the Graduate School, Saturday classes shall continue in accordance with the approved schedule and delivery modality authorized by the Dean of the Graduate School.

- Even during Work From Home days, all personnel are expected to remain accessible and responsive through official communication platforms to ensure that the services of the College continue without interruption.

These arrangements are being implemented to support the national government’s call for energy conservation, while ensuring that DSSC continues to provide quality education and responsive public service.

🤝 BRIDGING DISTANCES, CONNECTING FAMILIES 📱🔗

Earlier today, September 11, 2026, the Davao del Sur State College (DSSC) Extension and Community Relations Office met with the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Digos City District Jail to finalize the schedule for the upcoming eDalaw PDL Visitation System Training.

This initiative under the DSSC FamConnect Project aims to streamline digital visitation services, making it easier for Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) to stay connected with their loved ones.

On July 29, 2026, the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology Regional Office 11 (BJMP RO XI) in Davao City conducted a Basic Computer Fundamentals Training for its BJMP personnel. The event aimed to build strong digital skills and help the officers handle their daily administrative duties with greater ease and confidence.

Resource speakers from Davao del Sur State College-College of Information and Digital Sciences, directed by its College Dean, Dr. Felomino P. Alba led the participants through hands-on lessons covering essential computer operations, file management, basic software functions, and basic internet and email use. Through clear explanations and practical exercises, BJMP Region XI officers learned how to write neat documents, organize records, navigate online tools safely, and communicate professionally through official email channels.

This training highlights BJMP Region 11’s continued partnership with local academic institutions to empower its personnel with practical skills, helping them deliver faster, more efficient service to the public.

Meeting Preparation for the Master of Information Technology (MIT) Offering at DSSC

The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology Regional Office XI (BJMP RO XI) in Davao City through the partnership with DSSC-College of Information and Digital Sciences successfully conducted a specialized Microsoft Office Productivity Training last august 5, 2026, aimed at enhancing the digital literacy, administrative efficiency, and operational workflow of its personnel.
The training was led by the faculty members of College of Information and Digital Sciences as resource speakers, the hands-on sessions provided participants with high-caliber technical guidance anchored to public sector needs.

As modern public service increasingly relies on swift, accurate, and secure digital documentation, equipping personnel with advanced office productivity skills is vital to maintaining high organizational standards.

Throughout the practical training, the resource speakers guided personnel through mastering document standardization and security in Microsoft Word to streamline official correspondence and report generation. The training also dived deeply into Microsoft Excel, where personnel acquired practical techniques in data management, analytics, and record validation to refine tracking metrics and institutional reporting. Additionally, the program covered impactful presentation techniques in Microsoft PowerPoint to help officers design clear, professional slide decks for command briefings and public reports.

By learning to seamlessly integrate these software tools into their daily routines under expert academic instruction, the personnel of BJMP RO XI significantly optimized their administrative workflows and reduced report turnaround times. This successful collaboration highlights BJMP Region XI’s dedicated commitment to continuous capability building, academic partnership, and professional excellence in public service.
