Davao del Sur State College (DSSC) has formalized two (2) new partnerships through the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) during the Enhancing Laboratory Capability for Advanced Research and Scientific Services Workshop, held today at the DSSC Mini-Theatre. The agreements were signed with the Ateneo de Davao University-Chemistry Department and the Philippine Science High School Davao Region Campus.

The final day of the training brought participants into the world of Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GCMS) and Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (LCMS)โ€”powerful techniques for detecting, separating, and quantifying chemical compounds. Participants learned practical skills in sample handling, method optimization, and data interpretation, applying these tools to real-world research contexts. This concluding session showcased the participantsโ€™ readiness to apply advanced analytical techniques in addressing environmental, agricultural, and community challenges. The three-day training successfully enhanced DSSCโ€™s capacity to pursue innovative, data-driven research that supports sustainable rural development.

The second day of the training program focused on Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopyโ€”one of the most advanced techniques in molecular characterization.
Participants gained valuable experience in instrument operation, spectral acquisition, and data interpretation, guided by experts from the University of San Agustin.
