Davao del Sur State College (DSSC) has formalized two (2) new partnerships through the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) during the Enhancing Laboratory Capability for Advanced Research and Scientific Services Workshop, held today at the DSSC Mini-Theatre. The agreements were signed with the Ateneo de Davao University-Chemistry Department and the Philippine Science High School Davao Region Campus.

The final day of the training brought participants into the world of Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GCMS) and Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (LCMS)โ€”powerful techniques for detecting, separating, and quantifying chemical compounds. The second day of the training program focused on Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopyโ€”one of the most advanced techniques in molecular characterization.

Day 1 of the three-day Skills Training in Advanced Analytical Instrumentation commenced with an in-depth, hands-on session on the Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). Faculty participants from Davao del Sur State College explored the core principles of electron microscopyโ€”focusing on sample preparation and image analysis. Through guided instruction and laboratory practice, they discovered how SEM technology can reveal intricate surface structures essential for research in materials science, agriculture, and environmental studies.
