2026 ARAL- Reading and ARAL- Math under DepEd's Summer Remediation Program (SRP) officially kicked off at Aplaya Elementary School in Digos City, marking a positive start to activities aimed at strengthening pupils’ reading and mathematical skills during the break.

Teachers were provided with learning supplies to support engaging reading activities, while pupils enjoyed free snacks that added excitement to the first day of the program.

The initiative primarily aims to improve reading proficiency and foster a love for reading and for numeracy among young learners in a fun and supportive environment.

The opening was monitored by Public Schools District Supervisor, Sir Neil D. Bongcayao, ensuring that the program was implemented smoothly and aligned with its goals of helping learners become more confident and capable readers and number solvers.

This SRP commenced today and will end on June 2, 2026.

With hearts full of gratitude and eyes set firmly on the future, the graduating class of School Year 2025–2026 gathered for a solemn Thanksgiving Mass last March 27, 2026, Friday, that beautifully marked the close of a meaningful academic journey.

The sacred celebration, presided over by Rev. Fr. Francis Tom J. Aradillos, DCD, was a moment of deep reflection and joyful praise, as learners, teachers, and families came together to thank God for the blessings, challenges overcome, and milestones achieved throughout the year.

Adding to the significance of the occasion was the heartfelt blessing of medals and certificates of all learners from Kinder to Grade 6.

The mass was a sacred send-off, uplifting spirits and strengthening faith as the learners step confidently into their next chapter in Junior High School. 🙏

Our school extends its heartfelt gratitude to the City Local Government Unit, headed by Digos City Mayor Josef F. Cagas, through the initiative of Brgy. Kagawad Irish Zamora, Chairperson on Infrastructure and Development of Brgy. Aplaya Council, for the provision of a road roller.

It was used to properly compact and level the school ground, reducing mud formation during rainy days and ensuring a firmer, safer, and more accessible area for learners and school activities.

This activity was done last March 26, 2026 during the graduation practice of our Grade VI learners and teachers.❤️

Digos City- Aplaya Elementary School proudly recognized the successful completion of the newly-hired teachers under the Teacher Induction Program (TIP) Courses 1 and 2 namely Ms. Hedaya Macarimbang, Mr. Eric Fortunato Calipayan, and Ma’am Elgrace Davis last March 23, 2026, Monday.

Guided by their dedicated mentors, Master Teachers Rema M. Ramos, Jayson M. Abellon, and Ma. Regina E. Robante, the completers demonstrated commitment and readiness to deliver quality instruction to learners.

School Head Sir Juvy B. Salise expressed his pride, stating, “The TIP has strengthened your foundation as educators, equipping you with the skills, values, and competence needed to effectively support our school."

The school commends the TIP completers for this milestone and looks forward to their continued excellence in the teaching profession.

Nanda’s Vegetarian Food Products successfully extended a Feeding Activity last March 19, 2026, providing nutritious, plant-based meals to community beneficiaries.

The initiative aimed to promote healthy eating habits while demonstrating that delicious and satisfying meals can be prepared using purely plant-based ingredients.

Volunteers distributed freshly prepared vegetarian dishes and shared information on the benefits of a plant-based diet, including improved health and sustainability.

The activity not only addressed immediate food needs but also raised awareness on making healthier and more environmentally friendly food choices.

Brgy. Aplaya in Digos City, being the top most in cases of rabies, the Provincial Government of Davao del Sur, through the Provincial Animal Rabies Coordinator, Sir Camilo M. Moncada, DVM, and Provincial Veterinarian, Ms. Catherine S. Resurreccion, DVM, conducted the Provincial Anti-Rabies Symposium for Aplaya Elementary School learners and teachers last March 13, 2026, Friday.

It was an awareness campaign that informed learners on what to do in case of animal bites and how to prevent rabies. The discussion included proper first aid, such as washing wounds with soap and water, applying antiseptic, and seeking immediate medical care. The importance of responsible pet ownership and vaccination was also emphasized.

The symposium helped participants gain essential knowledge to stay safe and prevent rabies in the community.

Brgy. Aplaya Executive Council rewards DavRAA winners, supports RFOT qualifier

Punong Barangay Gregorio Amacio Jr. and Brgy. Kagawad Marilou A. Fiel, Education Committee Chairperson granted monetary rewards to the winners in athletics and gymnastics during the 2026 DavRAA in Tagum last Feb. 20-28,2026.

Moreover, the executive council also gave monetary support for the upcoming Regional Festival of Talents in Arabic Language and Islamic Values Education (ALIVE) in particular Harf Tarch on March 25,2026.

The support was received by ALIVE Teacher Hedaya Macarimbang.

"Daghang salamat kaayo Kagawad ug sa imong mga kaubanan sa barangay, labaw na kay Kap. Boying noh sa walay puas na pagsupporta sa among kalihukan ug kadaugan sa school. Kini noh mamahimong motivation alang sa tanan," said sir Juvy B. Salise, school head during the flag raising ceremony, today.
