𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗼 𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗦𝘂𝗿 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 (𝗗𝗦𝗦𝗖) 𝗷𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗯𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗟𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵, paying tribute to Filipino writers and cultural figures whose works continue to shape the nation’s literary consciousness and collective memory.

With the theme “Bekët Panitikan: Para sa Katwiran at Kalikasan” (Togetherness in Literature for Reason and the Environment), DSSC highlights literature as a living force that unites communities through shared narratives, nurtures critical thought, and deepens awareness for environmental stewardship.

Through carefully selected passages from novels, poetry, essays, and songs, DSSC revisits Philippine literature as both witness and resistance, an enduring archive of memory, identity, and imagination for seven consecutive days. These texts traverse time, reflecting the nation’s continuing search for meaning in the Filipino experience, where language becomes both inheritance and invocation, ever speaking, ever remembered.

For those who read, and for the youth who continue to inherit its pages, literature remains not only a record of who we were, but a continuing invitation to think, to care, and to imagine a more grounded and humane future.

DAY 4 | 𝗕𝗜𝗘𝗡𝗩𝗘𝗡𝗜𝗗𝗢 𝗟. 𝗟𝗨𝗠𝗕𝗘𝗥𝗔
Filipino poet, critic and dramatist; National Artist for Literature.

Si Bienvenido L. Lumbera ay itinanghal bilang Pambansang Alagad ng Sining sa Panitikan noong 2006. Makata, libretista, iskolar, at makabayan. Kinilala ang ambag ni Lumbera sa pagpupunyagi niyang matuklasan ng mamamayang Filipino ang kanilang identidad pangkultura, gayundin, ang pag-uugnay niya ng kaniyang sining sa bayan.
