𝐔𝐌𝐂𝐅 𝐖𝐄𝐋𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐄 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐘

UM Campus Friends warmly welcomed students in a Welcome Party with the theme “Welcome Home, You Belong Here” last September 19, 2025, at the AVR, UM–Douglas College.

The celebration began with a Holy Spirit Mass presided by Rev. Fr. Francis Radan, OSB, followed by an energetic Getting to Know You Game. The Opening Praise and Worship was led by The Feast Digos, leading into an inspiring talk on “You Belong Here” by Brother Jake Ayano.

The program also featured the Oath-Taking Ceremony of the newly appointed UMCF officers and the Welcoming of New Members into the organization. The event concluded with a heartfelt Closing Worship, again led by The Feast Digos.

With around 60 participants in attendance, the gathering truly embodied fellowship, faith, and belongingness.

Meet the people behind the success of the UM Campus Friends Welcome Party. The UMCF Officers led by our president: Steven Kylle Barrida, and our adviser: Sir Jhester Hornejas, is one together with The Feast Digos, with Bro. Jake Ayano who gave the talk.

𝐓𝐀𝐋𝐊 | 𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐲

During the UM Campus Friends Welcome Party, a talk about “𝘞𝘦𝘭𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘏𝘰𝘮𝘦: 𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘉𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘏𝘦𝘳𝘦” is given by Bro. Jake Ayano from The Feast Digos. In his talk, he stated:

“In God’s Eyes, we all belong together–in the same picture, in the same place. You belong here.”

He reminded us that amidst our adversities, differences, and that we belong in different communities, we belong together in His Name.

𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐃𝐒 𝐎𝐅 𝐖𝐈𝐒𝐃𝐎𝐌 | 𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐲

During the Holy Spirit Mass of the UMCF Welcome Party, Rev. Fr. Francis G. Radan, OSB in his Homily stated:

“Just as Christ has annointed us, then we too are also called to be priests, prophets, and kings.”

So, friends, let us live a life of prayer such of a priest, preach without fear such as prophets of the Word of God, and serve others out of love such as a king.
