Decluttering seashore: Cleaning human footprints
Digos City, September 21, 2024β Hundreds of volunteers came together at the Coastal Area of Brgy. Aplaya this weekend for a coastal cleanup drive, removing tons of plastic and debris from the shoreline. Organized by City Environment and Natural Resources Officer (CENRO), in celebration for the International Coastal Clean-up (ICC), the event aimed to reduce marine pollution and protect local wildlife.
Participants collected single-use plastics, and other waste. Organizers emphasized the importance of keeping beaches clean and raising awareness about ocean conservation.
The Youth for Environment in Schools Organization of Igpit National High School participated the said event together with the DFSSLG teacher and student officer.
Together, we can let the ocean breathe and declog.
