IES Demonstrates Exceptional Disaster Preparedness During Recent Earthquake
The recent earthquake that struck during school hours at Igpit Elementary School put the school's disaster preparedness plan to the test. Thanks to the swift response of Principal Joel Cartajena and the School Disaster Risk Reduction Management (SDRRM) team, headed by coordinator Mark Stephen Bohol, the pupils were safely evacuated to the designated area.
The SDRRM team's efforts, combined with the support of the Barangay Government team led by Punong Barangay Flaviano Hermoso Jr., ensured a well-coordinated response to the emergency. The pupils, accompanied by their advisers and subject teachers, were quickly and orderly evacuated, minimizing potential risks.
This incident highlights the importance of disaster preparedness and the crucial role that schools and local governments play in ensuring the safety of students and staff. The Igpit Elementary School community's proactive approach to disaster risk reduction is a testament to the commitment to the well-being of the students.
