Davao del Sur State College (DSSC) – College of Teacher Education proudly joins hands with 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘀 𝗜𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗺 𝗦𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗴𝘂𝗻𝗴 (𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗦𝗦𝗨𝗟𝗔), Faculty of Education and Teacher Training, Semarang, Indonesia, for a six-week Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) initiative, running from September 23 to November 4, 2026, entitled “𝙋𝙖𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙣𝙨 𝘼𝙘𝙧𝙤𝙨𝙨 𝘾𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚𝙨: 𝙄𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙋𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙚 𝙂𝙚𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙩𝙧𝙮 𝙞𝙣 𝙀𝙩𝙝𝙣𝙞𝙘 𝙋𝙖𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙣 𝘿𝙚𝙨𝙞𝙜𝙣.”

This intercultural academic engagement brings together pre-service teachers from the Philippines and Indonesia to explore the fascinating connection between mathematics, culture, and digital learning. Through Plane and Solid Geometry, students will examine ethnic patterns, discover their cultural meanings, and use GeoGebra to digitally recreate and design patterns inspired by their respective cultures.

More than an online classroom, this COIL experience creates a space where students can learn across borders, exchange cultural perspectives, collaborate internationally, and develop digital competencies—demonstrating how education can connect communities even beyond geographical boundaries.

Davao del Sur State College (DSSC) is heading to Germany!

Building on its remarkable achievement in the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) 2026, DSSC takes another significant step in its internationalization journey by participating in the 3rd WURI Global Conference on September 23–25, 2026, at the Deggendorf Institute of Technology (DIT), Germany.

Representing DSSC is Dr. Harold E. Fuentes, a faculty member of the College of Mathematics, Arts, and Sciences (CMAS) and DSSC Medical Coordinator, and the proponent of the College’s winning entry in the WURI 2026 Global Rankings.

And this time, DSSC will not simply be in the audience.

Dr. Fuentes will take the international stage in GERMANY to present and share DSSC’s innovative work with university leaders, researchers, innovators, and higher education practitioners from around the world.

This milestone comes on the heels of DSSC’s strong performance in WURI 2026, where the College ranked 284th Overall worldwide, including an impressive 2nd place globally in Culture/Values, as well as 85th in University-Based Entrepreneurial Projects, 89th in Social Impact through Knowledge Transfer, and 91st in Empowerment-Based Management.

From being recognized among innovative universities worldwide to bringing DSSC’s own innovations to Germany, this journey represents more than a ranking, it is an opportunity to share, learn, connect, and build partnerships beyond borders.

Davao del Sur State College (DSSC), in partnership with IPB University, officially announces BETA 3.0: International Research and Extension Conference on Business, Education, Technology, and Agriculture, scheduled for December 3 to 5, 2026.

Now on its third edition, the conference expands its scope to include Environment, reflecting the intersection of the disciplines in addressing contemporary concerns through research, innovation, and collaboration.

BETA 3.0 carries the theme, “Harnessing Artificial Intelligence and Interdisciplinary Innovation to Transform Business, Education, Environment, Technology, and Agriculture Beyond Borders.”

The conference will provide a platform for researchers, extension workers, and education practitioners to present research findings and engage in academic exchange across disciplines and institutions.

On September 16, 2026, Davao del Sur State College (DSSC) held a virtual meeting with Rizal Technological University (RTU), through its College of Engineering and Technology, via Google Meet to discuss two proposed Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) projects under the GLOCAL initiative.

Engr. Rey S. Amante and Engr. Erwin D. Rubio Jr. shared their individual proposals: “Green Energy on the Farm Innovations for Sustainable Agriculture” and “Fundamentals of Remote Sensing for Environmental Applications.” These initiatives give students opportunities for cross-institutional learning, knowledge sharing, and intercultural interaction, strengthening collaboration, broadening perspectives, and enriching their overall educational experience.

The two COIL projects are tentatively set for implementation from October to December 2026, marking three months of collaborative learning, with participating students from DSSC and RTU.

This initiative highlights DSSC’s dedication to broadening global academic interactions and offering students significant learning experiences that transcend geographical limits. It contributes to the pursuit of SDG 4 – Quality Education, and SDG 17: Partnership for the Goals, promoting international cooperation, knowledge exchange, and stronger partnerships beyond borders.
