DCCES Adheres to Safety Precautions Amid Community Threat

Digos City Central Elementary School (DCCES) continues to prioritize the safety and well-being of its learners, teachers, and staff amid a reported threat within the community.

The school administration has strengthened safety measures and reminded everyone to remain vigilant, follow established security protocols, and immediately report any suspicious activity to school authorities.

Despite the situation, classes and school activities continue with caution and discipline. DCCES assures the school community that appropriate measures are being taken to maintain a safe and secure learning environment.

PNP Digos Orients Grade 6 Learners on Dangers of Bringing Weapons to School

DIGOS CITY — Police personnel from the Digos City Police Station conducted a classroom orientation for Grade 6 learners of Digos City Central Elementary School (DCCES) on the dangers and consequences of bringing knives and other prohibited weapons to school.

P*P Checlet Dinoy and PMSg Asraf Bayan, representing the Philippine National Police (PNP) Digos, led the orientation following a recent incident in which dangerous paraphernalia brought to school by some Grade 6 learners were confiscated after the matter was reported to a teacher.

The activity was initiated by Grade 6 Grade Level Leader Maria Annabelle G. Don along with Mary Ann Perez, SELG Adviser and approved by School Principal Aldin Jr. J. Barsalote as part of the school’s efforts to strengthen learner awareness of school safety and responsible behavior.

During the orientation, the police personnel discussed the risks and consequences of bringing prohibited weapons into school, relevant laws and ordinances concerning bladed weapons, violence prevention, conflict resolution, and the learners’ role in maintaining a peaceful school community.

The activity also emphasized the importance of immediately reporting safety concerns to teachers or school authorities to prevent possible harm and maintain a secure learning environment.

The orientation forms part of the school’s continuing efforts to promote safety and responsible decision-making among learners through collaboration with law enforcement and the school community.

New PTA Team Takes the Lead, Vows Stronger DCCES Partnership

Digos City Central Elementary School (DCCES) welcomed its newly elected Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) officers during its First School PTA General Assembly, marking a new chapter of partnership and service.

The new officers were inducted by Barangay Captain Jayjay E. Medina, who pledged his 200% support to the school and its programs.

Leading the new PTA team is President Bevs Natheles “Bam” Canales, who expressed excitement about fulfilling the group’s visions and proposed projects for the betterment of the DCCES community, with the support of his fellow officers.

Joining Canales in the new PTA leadership are:

* Secretary – Chamen Villaganas
* Treasurer – Gloreh Jean Escoton
* Auditor – Arturo Daneila
* Business Manager – Marsha Pescadero
* Board of Directors – Karl Carillo, Justin Lopez , Lorelie Gorgonio

Meanwhile, Arnold Zapanta, Local School Board Chair, representing the City Government of Digos, emphasized that school success is built on willingness to support and collaboration between parents and the school.

Aldin Jr. J. Barsalote also expressed his gratitude to the new officers for their vision and commitment.

The assembly was made more meaningful through the support of Personal Collection Digos Branch, businessman Mr. Boy Bacayana, and Hon. Mayor Joseph Cagas and Hon. City Councilor Liza Cagas with the SPTA officers who donated rice shared among stakeholders through a raffle draw.

With a new team and strong community support, DCCES looks forward to a productive term anchored on partnership, service, and malasakit.

Pinoy Pride in Phuket! Solo PH Delegate Saeragh Nya Estampa Ranks 5th Globally in HIPPO English Olympiad

PHUKET, Thailand — In a spectacular display of academic excellence, Grade 2 learner Saeragh Nya Estampa of Digos City Central ES raised the Philippine flag on the international stage by securing the 5th spot worldwide in the recently concluded HIPPO "English Without Borders" International Olympiad held here.

Representing Digos City Central ES-Special Science Elementary School Program (DCCES-SSES), Estampa stood out as the sole representative from the Philippines. She successfully went head-to-head against elite delegates from dozens of countries, proving that age is no barrier to global excellence.
Estampa is currently a Grade 2 SSES student of DCCES. Her strong foundation in English was nurtured by her former Grade 1 SSES adviser and coach, Teacher Dianne Verdida, who guided and prepared her throughout her HIPPO competition journey.

Her success brings immense pride not only to DCCES-SSES but also to the entire Digos City community and the Philippines, proving that Filipino learners can excel and compete confidently on the global stage.
Teacher Dianne also encouraged Estampa to continue believing in herself, aiming higher, and carrying the pride of DCCES-SSES and the Philippines wherever she goes.

School Principal Aldin Jr. J. Barsalote expressed his pride in her remarkable achievement, saying that her success is a testament to her dedication, perseverance, and excellence.
He added that she has brought great honor not only to DCCES-SSES but also to the Philippines, and he hopes her accomplishment will inspire more young learners to pursue their dreams with confidence and determination.

DCCES Learners Receive School Supplies and Treats from Local Donors ALTAMERS Mountain Resort and Mers Native Delicacies

In a heartwarming display of community support, the learners of Digos City Central Elementary School (DCCES) recently received a generous donation of essential school supplies and delicious snacks. The much-needed items were provided through a joint collaborative effort by Altamers Mountain Resort and Mers Native Delicacies, under the leadership of Ms. Medit C. Villegas, together with her niece Novee Loi Ricyl Padilla, husband Jonrich Padilla, and Angel Cago. Joining them in this meaningful initiative was the Manager of ALTAMERS Mountain Resort, Jessa Canonigo—along with a special, heartfelt thank you to their beloved dog, Butter, whose joyful presence added extra warmth to the event.

Distributed through the coordination of Ms. Merla Silva, this thoughtful gesture brought bright smiles to the students' faces, equipping them with fresh tools for their daily studies while pairing the event with delightful snacks. Looking ahead, the donors are already hoping to return in the coming days to serve the learners with their famous, signature bibingka.

This outreach initiative was intentionally organized as a vital component of the DCCES Reading Salon, an innovative flagship literacy program where Ms. Silva will serve as the dedicated teacher guiding these young minds in reading.
