Dawis National High School welcomed Dr. Gervasio Salinas, Jr., Public Schools District Supervisor, on July 15, 2026, for a monitoring visit focused on the school’s implementation of ILAW.

Beyond monitoring, Dr. Salinas provided valuable technical assistance to teachers, offering insights and guidance to further strengthen classroom practices and ensure the effective implementation of the program.

His visit underscored the importance of instructional support, continuous improvement, and collaborative leadership in advancing quality education at Dawis NHS.

Dear Dawisnatics, Parents, and Guardians,
In view of the current class suspension, Dawis National High School will continue the implementation of its Adjusted Opening Block Activities for School Year 2026–2027 through alternative learning and school-based arrangements as reflected in the schedule below.

These activities are designed to ensure a smooth and meaningful start to the school year through learner orientation, profiling, reading and numeracy assessments, child protection and anti-bullying awareness, PTA engagements, and diagnostic testing.

We encourage all learners and parents to stay informed, participate actively, and follow the schedule accordingly.

OPENING BLOCK ACTIVITIES TO CONTINUE DURING CLASS SUSPENSION

Dear Parents, Learners, and Community Partners,
Despite the temporary suspension of face-to-face classes, learning and school engagement will continue through online and other accessible means. We encourage everyone to stay connected as we begin the school year together while prioritizing the safety and well-being of our learners.

Day 1: Getting to Know Our Classroom and Learners
Teachers will:
• Introduce simple classroom rules, expectations, and agreements.
• Inform learners of the basic learning materials they need to prepare, such as notebooks, portfolios, and other school supplies for the opening of regular classes.
• Conduct simple learner profiling and familiarization activities through available online platforms.
• Share and discuss the Department of Education's Core Values to help set a positive tone for the school year.

Day 2: Reading and Numeracy Activities
Teachers will:
• Facilitate simple reading activities and assessments using available reading materials and resources.
• Conduct basic numeracy exercises consisting of simple mathematical questions to help determine learners' current skills and learning needs.

Day 3: Learner Welfare and Safety
Teachers will:
• Conduct activities that promote Child Protection and learner well-being.
• Share important information and awareness activities related to Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) to help learners stay safe during emergencies.
Important Reminders
• All activities will remain light, simple, and learner-friendly. Learners who are unable to participate online will not be required to do so. Participation is highly encouraged, but we remain understanding of the challenges brought about by the current situation.
• Our official school page will continue to serve as a primary platform for updates, announcements, and learning-related activities. Through this platform, we will:
Share Opening Block activities and accomplishments;
Provide important school updates;
Promote the message that learning continues even during challenging times;
Share relevant advisories and advocacy messages from the Department of Education.
• Teachers will continue preparing learning materials and documenting activities to ensure that learners remain supported during the suspension period.
• The school will continue to monitor the distribution of textbooks and other learning resources to ensure that learners receive the materials they need as soon as possible.
• Necessary instructional materials for teachers will also be provided following existing DepEd guidelines and policies.
