𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝗣𝗶 𝗗𝗮𝘆! 𝟯.𝟭𝟰📐🎉

Spelled as "pi" and pronounced as "pie"🥧, today we celebrate one of the most famous numbers in mathematics—π (pi). It is celebrated on the 3rd month and the 14th day of the year, representing the value of pi, 3.14.

Pi represents the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter, a number that continues infinitely without repeating.

Pi wasn’t always known as pi. Before the 1700s, people referred to the number we know as pi as “the quantity which when the diameter is multiplied by it, yields the circumference”. Not surprisingly, people got tired of saying so much whenever they wanted to talk about Pi. The Welsh mathematician William Jones, a friend of Sir Isaac Newton, began using the symbol for pi in 1706. The Society of Mathematics Enthusiasts happily takes part in the worldwide celebration of Pi Day by inviting everyone to recognize and enjoy the beauty of mathematics. Whether you are solving problems, discovering new ideas, or just enjoying a slice of pie with a beverage on the side, today is a great opportunity to celebrate the fun and excitement that math brings.

𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐒𝐌𝐄 𝐈𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐒𝐌𝐄

The 𝑺𝒐𝒄𝒊𝒆𝒕𝒚 𝒐𝒇 𝑴𝒂𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒔 𝑬𝒏𝒕𝒉𝒖𝒔𝒊𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒔 successfully wrapped up its 2nd General Assembly last January 23, 2026. It was a productive day that gave members the opportunity to be fully informed about the current status of SME; covering the activities already conducted, upcoming plans, financial expenses, remaining balance, and the transparency and liquidation of where the organization’s funds were allocated.

From the 1st year to 4th year, SME members were well represented, showing a strong sense of unity and active participation of the members in helping the organization reach its goals in the near future.
