IN PHOTOS || SMA FAMILY PAYS RESPECTS TO THE LATE GOVERNOR DAX CUA

In a gesture of sympathy, solidarity, and respect, the teachers and personnel of Saint Mary’s Academy of Diffun, Inc. (SMA) went to the Provincial Capitol today, September 18, to pay their final respects to the late Quirino Governor Dakila Carlo “Dax” Cua, who passed away at the age of 48.

Coming together as one SMA family, our teachers and staff offered prayers and expressed their heartfelt sympathy to the Cua family and to the people of Quirino who are mourning the loss of their provincial leader.

This meaningful act of remembrance was carried out with the support of Rev. Fr. Romulo C. Felix, PhD., DBES Superintendent, and Rev. Fr. Johnson C. Logan, School Chaplain, and in the presence of the school administrators, who joined the SMA community in offering prayers and extending their taos-pusong pakikiramay to the bereaved family. It was a simple yet meaningful expression of faith, compassion, and solidarity with the Quirinian community during this time of grief.

May the Lord grant eternal rest to the soul of Governor Dax Cua and comfort his family, loved ones, colleagues, and the entire Province of Quirino.

Rest in peace, Governor Dax.

LOOK | SMArt EMPLOYEES’ FORMATION AND E-CUP ACTIVITIES

Saint Mary’s Academy of Diffun, Inc. held a whole-day SMArt Employees’ Formation and E-CUP Activities on September 11, 2026, providing employees with a meaningful opportunity to pause, reflect, reconnect, and strengthen their sense of purpose and community.

The day began with An Hour of Silence and Reflection led by the School Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Johnson C. Logan, who shared a meaningful reflection entitled “From Occupation to Mission: Finding Purpose in Our Work as SMA Educators.”

Fr. Johnson reminded the employees that their work goes beyond simply having a job. It is a journey from Occupation, to Career, to Vocation, and ultimately to Mission—from earning a living and growing professionally to embracing education as a calling and a mission to educate, inspire, form, and transform young lives.

The reflection also emphasized that even the simplest tasks in school carry a deeper purpose. Every attendance checked, lesson prepared, student listened to, and word of encouragement given can make a difference in a learner’s life.

The formation continued with sharing and personal reflection, allowing employees to look within, appreciate their individual roles, and rediscover the purpose behind their service in SMA.

In the second part of the day, the employees took part in E-CUP, a team-building activity designed to strengthen collaboration, friendship, and camaraderie. Divided into four groups, employees engaged in activities that encouraged teamwork, participation, trust, and joyful connection beyond their usual workplace roles.

The whole-day activity was made possible through the support of Rev. Fr. Romulo C. Felix, PhD, DBES Superintendent, together with the SMA School Administration, whose continued commitment to employee formation recognizes that a strong school community begins with employees who are spiritually grounded, connected, and united.

More than a day of activities, the SMArt Employees’ Formation and E-CUP became a reminder that when we understand our purpose, strengthen our relationships, and serve with heart, our work becomes a meaningful mission.

LOOK | SMA Sponsors First Sunday Mass, Celebrates the Feast of Creation

Saint Mary’s Academy of Diffun (SMA) sponsored the First Sunday of the Month Mass this September 6, 2026, in celebration of the Feast of Creation, reminding everyone of our shared mission to care for our common home and stand for Mother Earth.

In his homily, Rev. Fr. Jenmar delivered a heartfelt wake-up call: “Care for creation, care for our home.” He reminded us that the environment is a gift to all of us—but when abused and neglected, it can also become a source of suffering and danger.

Creation is not meant for humans alone; it is a gift shared with all living things.
With a heart for the poor and a heart for all creation, we are called to recognize the presence and image of God in His creation and to turn our care into meaningful action.

Guided by the support, inspiration, and leadership of Most Rev. Jose Elmer I. Mangalinao, D.D. Bishop of the Dioce of Bayombong, DBES Superintendent Rev. Fr. Romulo C. Felix, PhD., School Chaplain Rev. Fr. Johnson C. Logan, and the SMA School Administration, the SMA community continues to strengthen its commitment to faith, stewardship, and care for our common home.

𝐅𝐀𝐈𝐓𝐇 𝐈𝐍 𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 | SMA COMMUNITY GATHERS FOR FIRST FRIDAY MASS
September 4, 2026

The Saint Mary’s Academy of Diffun community came together for the First Friday Community Mass, bringing together the Grade School and High School learners, faculty, and personnel in prayer and thanksgiving.

The Holy Mass was presided over by School Chaplain Rev. Fr. Johnson C. Logan, who centered his homily on two essential values: Integrity and Flexibility.

Fr. Johnson reminded the learners that integrity means doing what is right even when no one is watching—living according to one’s principles and choosing what is good without being influenced by others. He encouraged everyone to “live with integrity.”
He also emphasized the importance of flexibility and open-mindedness. Life brings new environments, experiences, and challenges, and we must learn to adapt and grow. As he reminded the learners, “If you want better things, do better things.”

The community also celebrated the Feast of Saint Teresa of Calcutta, whose life of compassion, humility, and service continues to inspire everyone to live our faith through love and good works.

Following the celebration, St. Teresa class and the adviser received a special blessing, entrusting the learners and their teachers to God’s guidance and protection.

This meaningful faith-formation initiative is carried out through the support of DBES Superintendent Rev. Fr. Romulo C. Felix, PhD., together with the School Administration, strengthening the spiritual growth and formation of the SMA community.

May we always choose what is right, embrace change with an open heart, and strive to become better by doing better.
