𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙂𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙣𝙤𝙧 𝙒𝙝𝙤 𝙇𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙃𝙪𝙜 𝘾𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙙𝙧𝙚𝙣
“Is Gov. Dax coming today?”
At Diffun Central School – Integrated SPED Center (DCS-ISC), that was always one of the most exciting questions whenever we heard that our Provincial Governor, Hon. Dakila Carlo E. Cua, would be visiting our school.
Every time he came, the atmosphere felt different. We become excited, eager to see him, greet him, and sometimes simply wait for that warm hug from the Governor who never seemed too busy to embrace a child and us, the teachers.
Gov. Dax was also more than a visitor to our school. He was a constant supporter of the projects and programs of DCS-ISC. Whenever the school had an initiative that aimed to make learning better and opportunities greater for children, he was there to extend his support. His presence reminded us that there were leaders who believed in our dreams and in what our school could become.
And, of course, we will always remember his jokes.
He could make us laugh with his simple, fun stories and playful remarks. We enjoyed listening to him because, for a moment, the Governor was not just the province’s leader, he was someone who could laugh with us, talk to us, and make us feel comfortable.
Perhaps that is why, to many of us, Gov. Dax was more than a Provincial Governor. He was a leader with a purpose, a public servant who cared, and a person many of us looked up to and admired.
Now, we may no longer hear his familiar jokes or wait excitedly for his next visit. We may no longer see him walking through our school, reaching out for a child’s hand, or giving one of his warm hugs.
But we will remember.
We will remember the Governor who made children smile. We will remember the leader who believed in our school. We will remember the man who made leadership feel close, kind, and human.
Gov. Dax, you may have left this world, but the children you embraced will carry your memory forward. And perhaps that is the most beautiful legacy a leader can leave, not a name written on a plaque, but a generation of children who can say, “He believed in us.”
Thank you for making us feel that we mattered. Your hugs may have lasted only a moment, but the warmth of your kindness will stay with us for a lifetime.
Rest peacefully, Gov. Dax. Your DCS-ISC family will remember you, always. 🕊️
