𝗗𝗡𝗛𝗦 𝗦𝗦𝗟𝗚 𝗹𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗔𝗚𝗔𝗣 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗱𝗿𝘂𝗴 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀

The Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) of Diffun National High School (DNHS) launched Project AGAP (Advocacy and Guidance for Adolescent Protection Against Illegal Drugs) for School Year 2026–2027 to strengthen drug awareness and promote adolescent health among all learners.

The school-based initiative aims to prevent illegal drug use through awareness campaigns, health promotion, learner participation, leadership development, and collaboration with community stakeholders, highlighted by a drug symposium held at the DNHS quadrangle during the flag ceremony on August 17.

According to Police Master Sergeant Michael C. Doctor of PNP Diffun, they conduct monthly symposiums in schools where students may become more curious about illegal drugs.
“Meron kaming monthly symposium in every schools lalong-lalo na sa mga high school students kasi doon mas nagiging curious sila regarding sa paggamit ng illegal drugs,” Doctor said, emphasizing the importance of regularly educating adolescents about drug prevention.

Doctor added that the PNP also accepts invitations from schools to conduct additional lectures on illegal drugs beyond their regular monthly symposiums.

𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗔𝗚𝗔𝗣 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗱𝗿𝘂𝗴 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀

Philippine National Police identified Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, as one of the key laws discussed in its drug-awareness efforts.

SSLG Vice President Triztan Nera stated that AGAP goes beyond drug awareness by also promoting adolescent health and providing learners with information that can support healthier decisions.

“Project AGAP is an initiative project of SSLG and BKB-C to minimize drug use, not only drug use, to spread information about drug awareness and not just about that but also about adolescent health,” Nera said, highlighting the importance of youth wellness.

𝗟𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗱𝗿𝘂𝗴 𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

Doctor added that the PNP addresses the time limitation by focusing on essential information, including relevant laws, types of illegal drugs, and their classifications.

“Yung challenges namin dito binigyan kami ng at least five to 10 minutes, mahirap yung sabihin o i-elaborate kung ano talaga ang epekto ng illegal drugs, pero nagawan namin ng paraan,” Doctor said, emphasizing their effort to make students understand important drug-related information despite the limited time.
In addition, Barkada Kontra Bisyo Council (BKB-C) President Jomaica Liyangna said the symposium was conducted during the flag ceremony to avoid disrupting regular classes.

Liyangna noted that the short lecture allowed students to receive information about illegal drugs without significantly affecting their classroom activities.

She also suggested that a longer discussion would be more effective because some students may not have enough time to fully understand the topics presented during the brief lectures.

Meanwhile, the BKB-C plans to extend its anti- illegal drug initiatives beyond the symposium through additional activities on future projects.

Diffun National High School formally honored Mr. Rogelio C. Subia Jr. in a send-off program as he prepares to assume his new position as School Head of Guribang Elementary School, recognizing his exemplary service and leadership before his transfer.

The program was attended by school and SPTA officials, teaching and non-teaching personnel, family members, and guests in a fitting tribute to Subia's contributions and his next milestone in educational leadership.

Former Principal Dr. Jennifer T. Tolentino described Mr. Subia as a calm and humble leader who consistently demonstrated integrity in carrying out his responsibilities, emphasizing that his servant leadership had earned the respect and admiration of the school community.

Newly installed Principal Dr. Erlito B. Madriaga commended Subia's admirable character, saying that his professionalism, dedication, and positive disposition make him a valuable asset to any school he serves.

NAPSSHI President Dr. Richard Subia, brother of the honoree, thanked the Diffun National High School family for helping mold his brother into the leader he is today and expressed confidence that he would continue making a meaningful impact in his new assignment.

Also, SPTA Daniphine Badua expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the honoree for his care, support, and commitment to the learners and parents, wishing him success as he takes on his new role.

The Mathematics department presented a symbolic tribute to the honoree as a gesture of gratitude and appreciation for his unwavering support, inspiring leadership, and enduring camaraderie throughout his years of service.

In his response, Subia expressed heartfelt appreciation to the school community for its trust, encouragement, and shared experiences, affirming his commitment to uphold the same values of humility, integrity, and dedicated public service as he begins his leadership journey at Guribang Elementary School.

The ceremony concluded with messages of gratitude, well wishes, and heartfelt farewells, and remarkable photo opportunity, highlighting the school community's confidence that Subia will continue to inspire excellence and servant leadership in his new role.

Diffun National High School recognized the Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP), Girl Scouts of the Philippines (GSP), new members of Sinaglikha Performing Company, IP dancers, and other members of various school organizations during the flag-raising ceremony held yesterday, June 27, honoring their commitment to leadership, service, and active involvement in school programs.

School Principal Dr. Erlito B. Madriaga commended the learners for their dedication and encouraged them to continue serving as role models in promoting discipline, responsibility, and excellence within the school community.

He further gave school updates and welcomed newly-hired teachers and anticipated for more non-teaching positions for the school such as guidance counselor and nurse.

The ceremony underscored the school's commitment to recognizing learners whose service contributes to a more dynamic and values-driven learning environment, eying for greater heights and holistic development.

Diffun National High School continues to conduct bag inspections through the initiative of the school administration, headed by school principal Dr. Erlito B. Madriaga, in coordination with the Philippine National Police (PNP)–Diffun, school guards, and the school's mandated organizations, especially the SDRRM officers, with their coordinator, Mr. Rogelio C. Subia Jr., reinforcing commitment to a safe and secure campus.

More than a routine security measure, this initiative reflects a shared responsibility in protecting every learner and in making the school environment where safety, discipline, and peace of mind come first.

Diffun National High School ushered in a new era of leadership as Dr. Erlito B. Madriaga formally assumed office as the school's new principal during the Installation Program and Turn-over Ceremony, held today at the DNHS Conference Hall.

During the turn-over ceremony, Dr. Jennifer T. Tolentino, the outgoing school principal, handed over the key of responsibility to Dr. Madriaga, symbolically passing on the leadership, authority, accountability, and stewardship of Diffun National High School to its new head.

In his acceptance speech, Dr. Madriaga introduced himself by sharing highlights of his experiences and accomplishments from his previous stations, which he considers as part of his continuing commitment to educational excellence and transformational leadership, vowing to strengthen and sustain a culture of excellence, integrity, and learner-centered education in Diffun National High School.

Adding significance to the event, Hon. Mayor May Garnace-Calaunan encouraged the school community to support the new school administration and work together in continuing the school's progress and success.

Dr. Richard Subia, President of the National Association of Public Secondary Schools of the Philippines, Inc. (NAPSSHI), likewise shared words of encouragement, expressing confidence in Dr. Madriaga's leadership and emphasizing the value of collaboration in achieving educational excellence.

Representing the parents and stakeholders, SPTA President Daniphine A. Badua conveyed her support for the incoming principal and reaffirmed the association's commitment to working hand in hand with the school administration in promoting learner welfare and school development.

The program concluded with a pledge of support from the teaching and non-teaching personnel, who affirmed their commitment to work alongside the new school principal in realizing the school's goal of making it still, a place to shine, where dreams align.

POWER UP LEARNING
DNHS Sustains Learning Through Alternative Delivery Mode Amid Power Interruption

Diffun National High School implemented its Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM) on June 23, following the suspension of face-to-face classes due to a scheduled power interruption in the province.

Prior to the implementation of the class suspension, the school administration formally communicated the situation through a letter addressed to Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Madelyn L. Macalling. The request was subsequently approved, allowing the school to carry out appropriate learning continuity measures in response to the scheduled power outage.

In accordance with the approved arrangement, teachers conducted online classes and provided learners with worksheets and activity sheets that enabled them to continue their academic tasks from the safety and comfort of their homes.

Teachers under the Work-From-Home (WFH) scheme fulfilled their responsibilities by facilitating online discussions, monitoring learner participation, checking outputs, and extending academic support whenever needed.

The implementation of the Alternative Delivery Mode was carried out in full compliance with the provisions of DepEd Order No. 22, s. 2024, ensuring that all prescribed protocols and guidelines governing class and work suspension during disasters and emergencies were properly observed and adhered to.

Meanwhile, School Principal Dr. Erlito B. Madriaga closely monitored the implementation of the Alternative Delivery Mode to ensure the effective delivery of learning activities and strict compliance with established policies.

In compliance with DepEd Order No. 007, s. 2026, the official social media page name "Diffun National High School" shall be changed to "DepEd Diffun National High School."

This change is being implemented to align with the updated Department of Education guidelines on the naming and branding of official DepEd platforms and communication channels.

We request the support and cooperation of all stakeholders in recognizing and using the new official page name in future communications and engagements.
