Today, September 21, marks the 54th anniversary of the declaration of Martial Law in the Philippines.

On this day, 54 years ago, millions of Filipinosโ€™ lives changed in an instant: people losing freedom and civil liberties and human rights abuses.

As we reflect on the past, we honor the courage of those who stood against oppression, acknowledge the significance of democracy, and commemorate the 80,000 people detained without trial and 3,257 people killed.

Intramurals 2026 | Yellow Firewolf Pulverizes Green Panthers

The Yellow Firewolf gets ahold of a seat for the championships in the Volleyball Girls Win-to-Lose semi-finals as they crush the Green Panthers into dust at the Saint Maryโ€™s Academy Volleyball Court, 14-25, 25-19.

The ball made its way to the Yellow Firewolf as they start the first set with a failed serve, giving the first score to the Green Panthers, 1-0.

After long rallies of spikes, the scoreboard tallied a score of 6-7, with the Firewof leading.

Christine Cariรฑo of the Green Panthers made a quick pancake save, but unfortunately her teammates swerves the ball into the net.

Maraiah Bermillo of the Firewolf aced a serviceโ€”the Green Panthers responded with a timeout to plan their strategy, leaving the score at 8-13.

The Green Panthers came back stronger after their timeoutโ€”Bermillo failing a service and Kristine Samarista of the Green Panthers acing a serve, but that wasnโ€™t enough to catch the 5-point deficit.

After a long match of spiking, rotating, and missed serves, the Firewolf conquers the first set, ending the match with a score of 14-25, 1-0.

After the athleteโ€™s lunch, the second set continued with Cariรฑo starting of the setโ€”though it crashes straight into the net, giving the Firewolf the first score, 1-0.

The ball now in possesion of the Yellow Firewolf, serving it cleanly, 18-11.

After long attempts of the Green Panthers to redeem themselves, it was then the ball decided their fateโ€”it descended down to the ground, and as it touched the ground, the Yellow Firewolf now celebrates as it conquers a ticket in the championships, they left the court with a score of 25-19, 2-0.
