Last March 26, 2024, Surigao del Norte State University's Surigao City Campus was abuzz with intellectual fervor during the conduct of the 1st National Teacher Education Quiz Bee 2024 - Institutional round, an initiative brought by Dr. Carl E. Balita Review Center (CBRC).

This prestigious event saw 32 diligent participants from various SNSU campuses, each representing their specialized education programs with pride.

Among the contenders, SNSU Del Carmen's College of Teacher Education stood out, showcasing the remarkable talents of Ms. Ellaflor Polvorosa and Ms. Ara Mila Egypto for BSED - Sciences, along with Ms. Lea Pagaran and Mr. Paul Joseph Alba for BTVTED - FSM.

Demonstrating exceptional knowledge and perseverance, the BTVTED representatives soared beyond the average, with Ms. Pagaran reaching the climactic clincher round for a chance at third place.

While the top awards remained elusive, the spirit and dedication of SNSU Del Carmen's CTE participants, along with the immense support of the whole administration headed by, Dr. Joey G. Escauso, the Campus Director, Mr. Elwin S. Argana, the Director for Academics and Technology, Ms. Elienlu Gemao, BTVTED Program Chair, and Mr. Robert Franz D. Bendanillo, the program chair of BSED, and STAss Coordinator at the same time, have undeniably made the whole college of teacher education immensely proud.

As we draw the curtains on our enlightening 3-day pre-deployment seminar workshop, the final day has been dedicated to a profound exploration of the laws and regulations in the teaching profession. Central to the discussions were the Code of Ethics for Professional Teachers, Republic Act 10627, or the Anti-Bullying Act of 2013, and Republic Act 7877, or the Anti-Sexual Harassment, which were discussed by Ms. Riavida M. Sorjaga, JD, Public Service Officer-V (PEESO Manager), each serving as a guiding light in our journey as educators.

The session provided a comprehensive understanding of the legal and ethical considerations that govern our roles as educators. The insightful discussions and practical examples explored various aspects of the code of ethics, examining how it will shape conduct in the classroom and interactions with students, colleagues, and the broader educational community. Through insightful discussions and practical examples, it gained valuable insights into the importance of adhering to these principles in maintaining the integrity and professionalism of the teacher profession.

By doing so, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to our resource speaker for her invaluable contribution to the seminar. Her guidance had enhanced the understanding of the legal and ethical landscape of teaching, empowering the BSED and BTVTED student teachers to navigate these complexities with confidence and integrity.

Let us carry forward the knowledge gained from this 3-day pre-deployment seminar, embodying the principles of professionalism and ethical conduct in our daily practice as educators.

Day 2 of the student teachers 3-Day Pre-Deployment Seminar Workshop ushered in a wealth of essential knowledge to equip them for roles in education. In the morning, exploration of Lesson Planning and DepEd forms under the guidance of Mr. Jayson E. Argota illuminated the intricate process of crafting effective lesson plans tailored to meet the diverse needs of the students and provided invaluable clarity on administrative procedures, ensuring compliance with educational standards and regulations. The second discussion is of DepEd Order No. 40 series of 2022, or Child Protection and Policy, and DepEd Order No. 49 series of 2002, Promotion of Professionalism in the Implementation and Delivery of Basic Education Programs and Services, discussed by Dr. Joey G. Escauso, which provided a comprehensive understanding of administrative requirements and instructional standards. This foundation ensures the readiness to navigate the administrative landscape with confidence and compliance.

The afternoon session delved into the critical aspects of Teaching Guides (TOS), Test Questions (TQ), and Item Analysis delivered by Ms. Floria C. Dialde, shedding light on the intricacies of assessment practices. Through insightful discussions and practical examples, they gained a deeper understanding of how to effectively gauge student understanding and tailor instruction to meet their needs.

Villamor provided invaluable insights into ensuring effective evaluation methods. Transitioning into the afternoon, discussions on Preparation of Instructional Materials delivered by Mr. Aljon C. Judilla provided invaluable strategies and techniques for creating effective instructional materials. The next topic, Classroom Management and Values Integration by Dr. Joey G. Escauso, sparked thought- provoking conversations on fostering inclusive and conducive learning environments.

Embarking on a Transformative Educational Partnership last October 02, 2023 in the esteemed halls of the Learning Resource Center, Surigao del Norte State University-Del Carmen Campus played host to a pivotal event—the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing between the Department of Education, Siargao Division, and the distinguished College of Teacher Education at SNSU-Del Carmen.
The ceremonious event drew key stakeholders and representatives from both institutions, underscoring a collective dedication to educational advancement. Among the distinguished attendees were DR. KAREN L. GALANIDA, CESO V, the visionary Schools Division Superintendent of Siargao Division, whose leadership has steered the course of educational excellence.

The stage also welcomed DR. JOEY G. ESCAUSO, the esteemed campus director of SNSU-Del Carmen Campus, a stalwart in fostering academic innovation. Joining the leadership were additional luminaries, including MR. ELWIN S. ARGANA, Director for Academics & Technology; MR. ROBERT FRANZ D. BENDANILLO, STAss Coordinator and Program Chair of BSED; MR. ALJON C. JUDILLA, Coordinator, TCC; MR. REX C. LEGASPI; and MR. JIMBO JUANITO B. VILLAMOR, dedicated Faculty Members of SNSU-Del Carmen Campus.
