(Come, Let’s Explore!): A Davao City Field Trip and Risk Management Seminar” served as a dynamic extension of core courses: THC 1, THC 2, and THC 5—transforming classroom concepts into real-world applications. Conducted in two batches, students from the University of Mindanao Main College of Hospitality Education (CHE) programs—BS Tourism Management and BS Hospitality Management—visited key attractions and establishments across Davao City on February 10 and 11, 2026, gaining firsthand insights into tourism operations, risk management, and sustainable destination practices.

This event, organized by the HPC106/L (Class 1882), provided Tourism Management students with hands-on learning experiences using the Global Distribution System (GDS). Through the seminar and competition, participants deepened their understanding of industry challenges, enhanced their competencies in ticketing and travel planning, and gained insights into strategies essential for staying competitive in the evolving tourism landscape.

With the valuable knowledge shared by our invited industry speakers, the summit served as an opportunity for industry integration, skill development, and professional preparation, empowering students to excel in the digital-driven tourism sector.

The THC 9 Seminar entitled; “Building Inclusive Tourism and Hospitality Workplaces: Multicultural Diversity for Decent Work and Reduced Inequalities” held on November 19, 2025 at the Cagliari Hall stands as a significant milestone in our continued commitment to fostering inclusivity, cultural awareness, and mutual respect within our community. Under the distinguished leadership of Mr. Guillergan, the event brought together individuals from diverse backgrounds to celebrate the richness of global traditions, values, and identities.
