HCDC Bajada Campus Reopens with a Blessing for BSMT Students

The Holy Cross of Davao College (HCDC) officially reopened its Bajada Campus for students of the Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation (BSMT), marking another milestone in the institution’s continuing commitment to providing a conducive environment for learning and formation.

The reopening ceremony took place following the Flag Ceremony and the welcoming remarks of the HCDC administration, led by the School President, the Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA), and the Dean of the Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation (BSMT).

The gathering brought together administrators, faculty members, staff, and BSMT students as the community welcomed the renewed use of the Bajada Campus. The reopening signifies HCDC’s efforts to support the academic formation and professional preparation of its marine transportation students.

A significant part of the occasion was the blessing of the entire Bajada Campus, presided over by Rev. Fr. Cirilo “Lolong” Bermudez, HCDC School Chaplain. Fr. Lolong blessed the different areas and facilities of the building, offering prayers for God’s guidance, protection, and blessings upon everyone who will study, work, and serve in the campus.

The blessing served as a reminder that education at HCDC goes beyond academic excellence. The institution continues to place importance on the integral formation of students—academically, professionally, spiritually, and personally.

With the reopening of the Bajada Campus, HCDC looks forward to welcoming its BSMT students into a renewed space where they can pursue their studies, develop their skills, and prepare themselves for their future vocation and service in the maritime industry.

May the Bajada Campus continue to be a place of learning, formation, faith, and hope for the HCDC community.

Religious Club Recruitment Period
August 11-28, 2026 only

-Knights of the Altar (KOA) : an organization of Catholic altar servers (boys and young men) who assist priests and bishops during Mass and other liturgical services.

-Commentators and Lectors Club (CLC) : They guide the church community through the Mass by reading scripture, leading prayers, and making key announcements.

-Crossian Voice (CV) : They lead, guide, enable the whole assembly to celebrate and sing the praises of God.

-Extraordinary Ministers of the Holy Communion (EMHC) :They help distribute the Holy Commuion to people during mass.

-Vocation Discernment Club (VDC) :They promote vocation among Christian community and serve as gift bearers during mass.

All applicants are required to attend a Religious Club Formation on September 7, 2026 at 7:30am-12:00nn for EMHC & Sta. Ana lectors. 2:00PM-4:00PM for the students/liturgical ministers (KOA, CLC, CV, VDC).

Both the students and the employees are invited to join the 3rd day Novena Mass at 11:00AM-12:00NN. Lunch together will follow afterwards.

Happy 29th Sacerdotal Anniversary, Rev. Fr. Cirilo “Lolong” Bermudez! 🎉🙏

On this special milestone of your 29 years of faithful priestly service, we, the entire Holy Cross of Davao College community, extend our heartfelt gratitude and warmest congratulations to you, our beloved School Chaplain.

Your priestly ministry has been a beautiful witness of faith, wisdom, compassion, and service. Through your words of wisdom, meaningful reflections, and genuine concern for everyone, you continue to inspire the HCDC community to deepen our faith and live out our mission with hope and courage.

You have been a source of hope, encouragement, and positivity, not only to the Campus Ministry Office and its ministers, but also to our students, faculty, staff, and the entire school community. Your presence brings a sense of joy and warmth to the campus, reminding us that our journey is never walked alone because God is always present in our lives.

For almost three decades you have generously offered your life to God and His people, faithfully answering the call to serve, accompany, and lead others closer to Christ. May your 29 years of priesthood be a reminder of the countless lives you have touched, the hearts you have inspired, and the seeds of faith you have planted along the way.

Patroness of the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management Education

The College of Hospitality and Tourism Management Education (CHaTME) joyfully celebrated the feast of its patroness, St. Martha, with a Holy Mass held at the Holy Cross of Davao College Chapel.

The celebration was presided over by Fr. Cirilo “Fr. Lolong” Bermudez, HCDC Chaplain, and was attended by the CHaTME student assistants who gathered in prayer and thanksgiving as they honored St. Martha, a model of loving service, hospitality, and faithful discipleship.
