📜 Post 3B: Forgiveness and Eternal Life

Our Eternal Hope: Unpacking the Creed (Part 3B - Finale) 🌅👑

Today, we wrap up our step-by-step journey through the Apostles' Creed. We finish with the beautiful, life-altering promises that secure our past, our present, and our eternal future. 📖👇

3️⃣ "...the forgiveness of sins,”

💖Colossians 1:14 ("...in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.").

💕This is the heart of the Gospel message. Because of Jesus’ sacrifice, our past mistakes, guilt, and shame are completely wiped away.

💕When God looks at you, He doesn't see your sins; He sees the righteousness of His Son. You are entirely forgiven and set free.

4️⃣ "...the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen."

💖1 Corinthians 15:52 ("...For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed") and

💖John 10:28 ("I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish...").

💕This life is not all there is. The Creed concludes with the ultimate victory report: physical death is not the end.

💕One day, God will raise our bodies into a glorious, imperishable state, and we will live with Him forever in a new creation entirely free from pain, crying, and decay.

💕The Apostles' Creed begins with God creating the world, and it ends with God restoring us for eternity. It is a beautiful summary of the grand story of Scripture!

📜 Post 3A: The Holy Spirit and the Church

The Helper and the Community: Unpacking the Creed (Part 3A) 🔥⛪

We have covered God the Father and Jesus the Son. Today, we enter the final section of the Apostles' Creed, turning our attention to the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit and the purpose of the Church. 📖👇

1️⃣ "I believe in the Holy Spirit,"

💖John 14:26 ("But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things...").

💕The Holy Spirit is not an invisible force or an emotion; He is the third Person of the Trinity.
💕He lives inside every believer to guide, comfort, convict, and empower us. He is God's constant, active presence with us every single day.

2️⃣ "...the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints,"

Note: The word "catholic" here means universal, referring to the global body of believers throughout history, not a specific denomination.

💖Ephesians 5:27 ("...to present her to himself as a radiant church...") and

💖Ephesians 4:4–5 ("There is one body and one Spirit... one Lord, one faith, one baptism.").

💕God never intended for us to live out our faith alone. The Church is a supernatural, global family unified across generations, languages, and cultures by our shared faith in Jesus. We are called to carry each other's burdens and worship as one body.

💕Through the Holy Spirit, God lives in us. Through the Church, God places us in a family.

Post 2C: The Ascension and Return of Jesus

Where is Jesus Right Now? Unpacking the Creed (Part 2C) 👑

☁️We know Jesus died and rose again. But what happened next?

Today, we finish the section on Jesus by looking at His current authority and His future return. 📖👇

5️⃣ "He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father."

💖Luke 24:51 ("While he was blessing them, he left them and was taken up into heaven") and

💖Hebrews 1:3 ("...he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.").

💕Jesus’ work on earth was completed perfectly. His ascension means He returned to His place of supreme honor and authority in heaven.

💕Sitting at the "right hand" means He rules alongside the Father, actively interceding and praying for you right now. You are never alone.

️6⃣ "He will come again to judge the living and the dead."

💖2 Timothy 4:1 ("...Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead...").

💕History is not moving aimlessly; it is heading toward a final day of accountability. Jesus will return to bring final justice, correct every wrong, and establish His perfect kingdom forever.

💕For believers, this day is not a source of fear, but of ultimate hope and rescue.

💕Jesus isn't just a figure from the past. He is the ruling King of the present, and the returning Judge of the future!

Post 2B: The Death and Resurrection of Jesus

The Cross and the Empty Tomb: Unpacking the Creed (Part 2B) 🪵🪦

✨Today, we look at the historical pivot point of the entire Christian faith: the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. 📖

3️⃣ "He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried."

💖Matthew 27:26 ("...he had Jesus flogged, and handed him over to be crucified") and

💖1 Corinthians 15:3–4 ("...that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried...").

💕The Creed names a specific historical figure—Pontius Pilate—to remind us that Jesus’ death wasn't a myth or a fairy tale.

💕It was a real event in human history. He truly suffered, truly died a brutal death on the cross, and was placed in a physical tomb to pay the ultimate price for our sins.

️4⃣ "He descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again."

💖1 Peter 3:18–19 ("...He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit...")

💖1 Corinthians 15:4 ("...that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.").

💕Jesus entered the realm of death completely, but death could not hold Him. His physical resurrection on the third day is the ultimate proof of His victory over sin, satan, and the grave. Because He rose, we have the certain hope that death does not have the final word in our lives either.

💕The cross shows us the gravity of our sin, but the resurrection shows us the absolute power of God's grace!Next week, we will look at where Jesus is right now and what He is doing! 🙌🔥

📜 2A: The Identity and Birth of Jesus

Who is Jesus? Unpacking the Creed (Part 2A) ✝️

✨In our last post, we looked at God the Father. Today, we begin diving into our core biblical beliefs about Jesus Christ, starting with His unique identity and His miraculous arrival on earth. 📖👇

1️⃣ "I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord."

💖John 3:16 ("...that he gave his one and only Son...") and

💖Romans 10:9 ("If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord'...").

💕This line establishes Jesus' unique identity. He is not just a good teacher or a prophet; He is the unique, eternal Son of God. Declaring Him as "Lord" means we give Him complete authority over our lives, choosing to follow His leadership every day.

2️⃣ "He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary."

💖Luke 1:35 ("The Holy Spirit will come on you... So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God") and

💖Matthew 1:23 ("The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son...").

💕This is the miracle of the Incarnation. Jesus is both fully God and fully human. Because He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, He carries God’s divine nature. Because He was born of a human mother, Mary, He understands our human struggles, temptations, and pains.

💕Our faith rests on a Savior who is powerful enough to save us because He is God, yet close enough to understand us because He became man.
