We are overjoyed to welcome our new Propaedeutic Year (PY) seminarians for the school year 2026-2027!

They come from diverse backgrounds, unique life stories, and varied experiences 一yet they arrive united by a single mission and a shared purpose: to listen deeply and respond courageously to God's call to the priesthood.

Please join us in keeping these men in your prayers as they begin this foundational year of discernment, fraternity, and spiritual growth. Welcome home, brothers!

In just two days, the St. Francis Xavier Propaedeutic Seminary community will joyfully welcome its new Propaedeutic Year Seminarians as they begin their journey toward priestly formation.

May their hearts remain open to God’s call, their minds eager to learn, and their lives rooted in faith and service.

St. Francis Xavier Propaedeutic Seminary warmly welcomes all incoming seminarians for the P.Y. Seminarians Orientation this May 25, 2026 at St. Francis Xavier Propaedeutic Seminary, Benedictine Road, Ulas, Davao City.

• Please wear proper attire. Shorts and sleeveless shirts (sando) are not allowed.
• You may bring writing materials for note-taking.

Earlier today, the St. Francis Xavier Propaedeutic Seminary community gathered for a short yet meaningful program marking the culmination of the Formation Year of the Propaedeutic Seminarians.

The celebration became a moment of gratitude and reflection—looking back on a year filled with prayer, learning, fraternity, challenges, and growth. Through every activity, encounter, and experience, the seminarians were formed not only intellectually, but also spiritually, humanly, and pastorally as they continue discerning God’s call.

As this formation year comes to a close, the journey does not end here. Rather, it becomes another step toward deeper commitment, greater service, and a more faithful response to Christ.

With grateful hearts, the community thanks all formators, staff, benefactors, families, and everyone who became part of this journey of formation.

Ang Espiritu Santo mao ang gasa nga nagpalihok sa kasingkasing sa matag tumutuó. Sa Iyang presensya, ang kahadlok mahimong kaísog, ang kasubo mahimong kalípay, ug ang kalisod mahimong gúgma. Kini ang timaan nga buhi ang Espiritu sa atong kinabuhi dili lang sa mga pulong, apan sa buhat ug kasingkasing nga andam mohatag ug moampong alang sa uban. Sa Ika-unom nga Domingo sa Pasko sa Pagkabanhaw, gipasidungog nato ang gahum sa Espiritu nga nagdasig sa mga apostoles ug nagpadayon sa pagdasig kanato karon. It reminds us of a profound truth: Jesus calls us not servants, but friends. Friendship with Christ is not a mere title it’s a relationship of trust and revelation. Because we are His friends, He shares with us the deepest mysteries of His love: the pain of the Cross and the joy of the Resurrection. When we see ourselves as friends of God, our faith becomes more personal and transformative. We begin to walk with Him not out of obligation, but out of love. This friendship invites us to mirror His compassion, to forgive as He forgave, and to rejoice in the hope that Easter brings.

Propaedeutic Year Coordinator

In moments of strain and uncertainty, discernment is our compass. It asks us to slow down, to bring our fears and impulses before God, and to weigh choices by charity and truth rather than by urgency or pride. Discernment is not indecision; it is a faithful practice: prayerful silence, honest self-examination, Scripture’s light, and wise counsel. When we learn to discern, we begin to see where God is already at work and how we are invited to cooperate with grace. May we grow in the patience to listen, the courage to act when called, and the humility to follow where love leads.

In life, we often cling tightly to habits, assumptions, and ways of thinking that no longer serve us. The wisdom of unlearning reminds us that growth is not just about acquiring new knowledge, but also about letting go of what hinders us from seeing God’s truth more clearly.

Unlearning pride opens the door to humility.
Unlearning resentment makes space for forgiveness.
Unlearning fear allows faith to flourish.
