GSP Barangay Committee Orientation Strengthens Partnership in Barangay Pangyan

A successful GSP Barangay Committee Orientation was recently conducted to strengthen collaboration between the schools of Pangyan E/S, Lorenzo E/S and the local community in supporting the Girl Scouts of the Philippines (GSP) program.
The orientation featured Ma’am Mercy P. Barsales, the GSP Coordinating Principal of Calinan East District, as the guest speaker. She shared valuable insights on the importance of the GSP program in developing leadership, responsibility, and community involvement among young girls.
The activity was also graced by Ma’am Elizabeth G. Ayag, Principal IV of LCVSES, whose presence showed strong support for youth development and scouting initiatives.
Also present during the orientation were Ma’am Lorna A. Bustamante, GSP School Commissioner of Pangyan Elementary School, Ma'am Marielle Bonggalan, GSP School Coordinatora of Lorenzo Elementary School and Kagawad Edwin Agbon, the Barangay Pangyan Committee on Education representative. Their participation highlighted the importance of partnership between the school and the barangay in nurturing empowered and responsible young leaders.
Through this orientation, the stakeholders reaffirmed their commitment to working together in strengthening the Girl Scouts program and providing meaningful opportunities for the youth of Pangyan.

On March 13, 2026, the learners of Lorenzo Elementary School once again experienced an inspiring and meaningful activity during Art Session 2, facilitated by renowned environmental artist and advocate 𝓡𝓲𝓬𝓪𝓻𝓭𝓸 𝓝. 𝓞𝓫𝓮𝓷𝔃𝓪 𝓙𝓻..

The session provided learners with an opportunity to explore their creativity while developing a deeper appreciation for nature through art. Sir Obenza guided the participants in expressing their thoughts, emotions, and environmental awareness using artistic techniques that highlight the beauty of the natural world. Through this engaging activity, learners were not only able to enhance their artistic skills but also strengthen their connection with the environment—an advocacy that Sir Obenza passionately promotes.

More than just an art workshop, the session became a moment of creativity, reflection, and inspiration for everyone involved.

The LORENZO ELEMENTARY SCHOOL would like to thank Sir Ricardo N. Obenza Jr. , a respected Davao-based artist, environmentalist, photographer, and educator who has dedicated many years to promoting love for nature through art and environmental advocacy. He is widely recognized for inspiring communities, especially young learners, to appreciate the environment while expressing creativity through the arts.

Today, March 6, 2026, he visited Lorenzo Elementary School and conducted a meaningful art workshop for our students. We are truly grateful for his presence, dedication, and effort in coming to our humble school. Surely, our students learned many valuable lessons about art, and through this experience, they will be more inspired to create something beautiful.
