Developing Responsible and Active Young Citizens!

San Lorenzo Elementary School successfully conducted the Supreme Elementary Learner Government (SELG) Elections for School Year 2026–2027, on February 12, 2026, at the ICT Laboratory. The school utilized the laptops donated by the AFFLIP Australian Foundation for Fostering Learning in the Philippines (AFFLIP), and the computers and tablets from the Department of Education to provide a faster, easier, and more organized voting system. Learners cast their votes ensuring an efficient and accurate election process.

The current SELG officers assisted the learners during the voting process, guiding them in using the system and maintaining order. Their support helped ensure that the activity ran smoothly and successfully.

The election gave learners the opportunity to practice choosing their leaders, an important step in developing democratic values at a young age. This meaningful experience was strongly supported by School Principal Sir Juniousar R. Caballes and SELG Coordinator Ma’am Imeeh Duray, who continue to guide programs that promote learner leadership and participation.

The activity helped learners understand the importance of making wise decisions, respecting others’ choices, and taking part in school governance. Through initiatives like this, the school nurtures leadership, responsibility, and active citizenship among learners.

THANK YOU AFFLIP!

San Lorenzo Elementary School extends its heartfelt gratitude to the Australian Foundation for Fostering Learning in the Philippines (AFFLIP) for their continuous support to our learners. Through AFFLIP’s generosity, our AFFLIP scholars received essential school supplies and funding assistance for the purchase of their school uniforms.

The scholars and their parents purchased the school supplies together with the School AFFLIP Scholarship Coordinator, Ma’am Imeeh L. Duray, and with the support of the new school principal, Sir Juniousar Caballes. This collaboration highlights the strong partnership between the school, the families, and AFFLIP in supporting our learners’ education.

With the help of AFFLIP, our learners are better equipped to participate actively in their lessons and school activities. The provision of supplies and uniforms not only supports their academic growth but also fosters confidence, motivation, and a positive outlook toward learning.

𝐃𝐈𝐆𝐈𝐓𝐀𝐋 𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐆𝐑𝐀𝐌│ DIGITAL LEARNING EMPOWERED!

AFFLIP Digital Learning Program Coordinators of Talomo East and West participated in the Digital Learning Cybersecurity Symposium and Training on MS Productivity Tools, conducted by one of our partners in digital education, the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Region XI, held at San Lorenzo Elementary School. This collaborative training was a vital step toward equipping educators with the knowledge and tools needed for safe and effective digital teaching.

As digital technology becomes more integrated into education, it is essential to raise cybersecurity awareness to safeguard data, protect digital resources, and mitigate cyber threats. At the same time, mastering Microsoft Productivity Tools empowers teachers to enhance their teaching strategies.

This initiative is further strengthened through the continuous support of the Australian Foundation for Fostering Learning in the Philippines (AFFLIP), whose commitment to digital transformation in education opens more opportunities for both teachers and learners.

Together, we are building a future-ready education system—secure, smart, and innovative.
