Kidding aside, did you know in the Northern Hemisphere, May is the month when the Sun's energy finally overtakes what the Earth can re-radiate—marking the true start of thermal summer, even before the solstice arrives. Among all the months, May also has no equivalent in terms of starting and ending on the same weekday as any other month in a common year. It stands alone, just like each of you 🌟

As spring stretches into its boldest chapter and the days grow longer with conviction, May reminds us that it is the threshold between blooming and burning, between the shyness of April and the fire of June. ❤️‍🔥

The Society of Math Majors (SMM) extends its sincere gratitude to the Ateneo de Davao Mathematics Society (AdDAMS) for the gracious invitation to partake in Math Confluence 2026. It was an absolute honor to stand alongside fellow scholars and educators from the finest mathematical institutions across Mindanao in this magnificent annual gathering. Being able to sit in on the inspiring plenary talks and engage with the thesis presentations was an eye-opening experience that deepened our love for mathematics and strengthened our bond as an organization.
