Ahead of San Pedro College's (SPC) 70th founding anniversary, the SPC Learning Resource Center (LRC) opened a special museum exhibit on Sept. 21 at the Learning Commons, SPC-LRC 3rd floor of Saint Therese (ST) Building, showcasing the institution's history.
Entitled โSan Pedro College: A Journey Through Seven Decades,โ the exhibit features documents, medals, photographs, books, laboratory equipment, and specimens highlighting people, places, achievements, and artifacts that bear the name of SPC.
Opening the ceremony, SPC Alumni Association Vice President Leah Zamora welcomed attendees with a speech emphasizing the significance of the event.
โA museum serves as a bridge between the past, the present, and the future. It reminds us of the people who came before us, the sacrifices they made, the values they upheld, and the dreams that shaped our institution. Every photograph, document, artifact, and piece of memorabilia that we see in this museum tells a story โ one of dedication, perseverance, faith, and love for education,โ she stated.
Furthermore, Zamora added that the museum stands as a testament to SPCโs shared heritage and identity, allowing people to look back with gratitude and appreciate the milestones the institution has achieved.
Through the exhibit, students are encouraged to visit and learn more about the institution's history, which served as the foundation of SPC.
Closing her speech, Zamora expressed her appreciation to the LRC, headed by its Director, Mary Lariosa, and the staff who worked to make the project possible.
โYour dedication, cooperation, and passion for preserving SPC's history have made this meaningful undertaking a reality,โ she added.
The museum will remain open to visitors until Oct. 3 during weekdays and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
