On his 10th Death Anniversary, we remember Atty. Senforiano B. Alterado Sr., Founder of MATS College and the institutions that grew from his vision, including Mindanao Medical Foundation College, Palawan Polytechnic College Inc., Saint Therese College of Science and Technology, Inc., Davao del Norte Agricultural College Inc., and Alterado General Hospital Inc. and Industrial Clinic.

His vision began with a simple purpose and that is to create opportunities that could help people build better lives. Through the years, that vision grew into institutions serving communities through education, healthcare, agriculture, and other areas.

The road was not always easy, but he continued to build and move forward. What he started was not only about establishing institutions, but creating opportunities that could continue to serve people beyond his lifetime.

Ten years later, his work continues through these institutions, the people they serve, and the generations that continue to benefit from what he started.

🌏 MATS COLLEGE JOINS THE NATIONWIDE SIMULTANEOUS EARTHQUAKE DRILL 2026

MATS College of Technology actively participated in the Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) 2026, joining institutions across the country in promoting earthquake preparedness and disaster resilience.

Students, faculty, and personnel took part in practicing the proper “Duck, Cover, and Hold” procedure, emergency response, evacuation, and coordination during an earthquake scenario.

Building awareness, discipline, and safety starts with knowing what to do when it matters.

✈️ STRENGTHENING PARTNERSHIPS. ADVANCING EDUCATION. BUILDING FUTURES.

On September 8, 2026, MATS College of Technology and OMNI Aviation formally signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), strengthening their collaboration in aviation education and industry training.

The partnership supports the Bachelor of Science in Aircraft Maintenance Technology (BSAMT), 2-Year Aircraft Maintenance Technology (2Y-AMT), and Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Engineering (BSAE) programs, with faculty members, students, and program representatives present during the MOA Signing Ceremony.

The event also included an orientation for students from BS Airline Management and Accountancy (BSAMA), BS Tourism Management (BSTM), and BS Hospitality Management (BSHM), covering program expectations, industry opportunities, career paths, and the skills needed for their future careers.

Through this partnership, MATS continues to connect classroom learning with actual industry opportunities, giving students more relevant exposure as they prepare for their chosen fields.
