Macky Espinosa, a Grade 11 student competing for Badminton Singles A Boys at Mahayag National High School on July 25, 2026 advances to the championship round. Although the gold slipped, the silver shone brighter than ever.

The covered court echoed with a sharp sound of shuttlecock meeting the racket.Every smash equivalent to a determination within himself that carried a five years of waiting and hope. As the final point was called , the crowd applauses.

For five consecutive years of silence, defeat overshadowed the dreams of victory. A player with perseverance refused to let history repeat itself and proved it .

Before Macky Espinosa step into the court he showcases his dedication and tenacity to knock it out of the park.For him this match is not just for himself but also for the school.

Championship qualifier was already a victory . And winning the silver medal became the symbol of his perseverance and dedication to the game not just for being an athlete, but also for the school . The characteristics of a player to fought not just for himself but for the pride of school ,was already a triumph.

The silver medal for badminton singles ,inspired other aspiring player to persevere, enhance, and believe. This says that, true success do not define by the color of medal but it's the courage to rise again.

For some athletes, victory is measured not only by medals but also by the sacrifices made behind every performance. Such is the journey of Christine Clarisse Altar of Grade 12-Duterte and Danieka Baringian of Grade 8-Intramuros, who both secured their places as Unit II Qualifiers for the upcoming Unit Meet during the Cluster 13 Athletic Meet.

For Clarisse, the achievement is especially meaningful as it comes in her final playing year. Knowing it would be her last chance to represent the school, she poured every ounce of effort into her training, determined to leave the sports arena with no regrets and a legacy of perseverance.

While Clarisse closes one chapter, Danieka continues to write the beginning of her own inspiring journey. "𝑵𝒂𝒈𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒌𝒐'𝒈 𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒐𝒏𝒈 𝒔𝒂 𝒂𝒌𝒐𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒌𝒂𝒚 𝒈𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒐 𝒈𝒚𝒖𝒅 𝒌𝒐 𝒎𝒂𝒌𝒖𝒉𝒂 𝒂𝒌𝒐𝒏𝒈 𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒆. 𝑮𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒐 𝒎𝒂𝒏 𝒈𝒖𝒅 𝒔𝒂 𝒂𝒌𝒐𝒏𝒈 𝒑𝒂𝒑𝒂 𝒏𝒈𝒂 𝒎𝒂-𝒔𝒆𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒅 𝒌𝒐," she shared, revealing that her father's wish motivated her to strive harder. Danieka's dedication paid off as she not only fulfilled her father's hopes but exceeded them, proving that hard work and determination can lead to even greater achievements.

With the Unit Meet fast approaching, Clarisse and Danieka carry with them more than their victories—they carry stories of resilience, discipline, and the unwavering pursuit of excellence.

Their journey serves as a reminder that every success begins with a dream, strengthened by hard work and inspired by the people who believe in them.

The first Unit II qualification is secured on July 25, 2026, as Seant John P. Paro showcases composure and determination in the Table Tennis Boys' Singles A event at Mahayag National High School. With every rally and point won, the second-year player proves that perseverance and preparation go hand in hand.

Facing tough opponents on the table, Seant displays confidence and discipline throughout his matches. His consistent performance earns him the distinction of becoming a Unit II qualifier.

As a second-year athlete, Seant admitts that he could hardly believe he has been qualified to advance in the Unit II Meet, describing table tennis as a challenging sport. He shares that the achievement is a result of years of practice in pursuit of improvement.

Looking back on his journey, Seant expresses his gratitude to the people who stood by him throughout his preparation. "𝑷𝒂𝒔𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒎𝒂𝒕 𝒑𝒖𝒅 𝒌𝒐 𝒔𝒂 𝒂𝒎𝒐𝒂𝒏𝒈 𝒄𝒐𝒂𝒄𝒉 𝒔𝒂 𝒔𝒊𝒈𝒆𝒈 𝒔𝒖𝒑𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒕 𝒔𝒂 𝒂𝒎𝒖𝒂 𝒖𝒈 𝒂𝒌𝒐𝒏𝒈 𝒎𝒈𝒂 𝒌𝒂𝒖𝒃𝒂𝒏," he said.

While greater challenges still lie ahead, Seant's journey is far from over. His qualification serves as an inspiration to his fellow athletes that every point matters, every match is an opportunity, and every victory begins with the courage to keep the rally going.

The sound of cheers, the vibrant colors of competing schools, and the determined faces of student-athletes mark the official opening of the Cluster 13 Athletic Meet at F. Bustamante National High School on July 24,2026. Gathering 14 participating schools, including Lorenzo Latawan National High School, the two-day sporting event opens not only with high hopes for victory, but also with a shared commitment to sportsmanship, unity, and excellence.

As the opening program concludes, athletes eagerly prepare for the competitions ahead. Behind every jersey is a story of months of training, sacrifices, and unwavering determination. While medals remain the goal, every participant also carries the pride of representing their school, and the opportunity to grow through every challenge they encounter.

For Lorenzo Latawan National High School, the Cluster Meet is more than a battle for podium finishes. It is a chance to build character, strengthen teamwork, and create memories that will last long after the final whistle.

Ma'am Judy Ann Manulat, one of the Athletics coaches of Lorenzo Latawan National High School, shares that joining the Cluster Meet has been both exciting and challenging, as it gave her the opportunity to guide and support her athletes not only during training, but also throughout the competition. She expresses her hope of gaining more experience as a coach, improving her coaching skills, and helping her athletes continue to grow while preparing them even better for future competitions.

The same mixture of excitement and nervousness was echoed by Anneca Bregole of the Girls' Badminton team, who will compete in the meet. Despite knowing the strength of her opponents, she remains determined to give her best.
