The school was founded by Dr. Julian P.
Rodriguez, Jr., in 1998, under sole proprietorship. He turned it into a foundation- the Doña Pilar Learning Center Foundation Inc, (DPLCFI) in 1990. It was duly registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on May 3, 1990, under SEC Registration NO. DS-03859. The DOÑA PILAR LEARNING CENTER (DPLC) is offering complete preschool (Grades I, II, III, IV, V, VI). It opened in 1988 with N
ursery, Kindergarten and Grade I courses. There were then 107 pupils. Every school-year thereafter, the school added new grade level until the elementary level completed SY 1993-1994 with 491 pupils. DPLC is a duly recognized school of the Department of Education (Dep-Ed). Below is the record of Government Recognition given to the school as a result of full compliance with all the requirements in operating private preschool and elementary courses. LEVEL:

The school is following the K to 12 Curriculum of the Department of Education (Dep-Ed) but with more emphasis in the development of mathematical and communication skills of the pupils. Christian Living Education, Values and discipline are always integrated in the academic subjects and in all the activities of the pupils. The school is declared by its Board of Trustees as an “ENGLISH SPEAKING SCHOOL.” The school is also a member of the Davao Association of Private School & Administrators (DAPRISA) Davao. It is an association of small private schools in the city. The association provides opportunity for the member schools to expose their pupils to inter-school sports, cultural and academic competitions and activities. It is also provides for faculty development. Goals And Objectives Of The School The DOÑA PILAR LEARNING CENTER is primarily intended to serve he school children of Sasa-Pampanga and nearby areas by providing them quality education at a lowest cost possible. It is committed to the preservation of Filipino ideals and Christian principles. It has the following aims:
Pupils Development:
Doña Pilar learning Center aims to develop the child’s spiritual, moral, physical, social, economic and aesthetic personality. It will:
1. Inculcate in the child love of God and neighbors by integrating religious education with regular studies;
2. develop a sense of humanity and nationhood;
3. develop competencies and desirable cultural values as member of a social group;
4. provide opportunities for meeting physical health and science needs;
5. develop ability for oral and written communication skills especially in English and Fil.
6. develop traditional but good moral attitudes such as respect for elders and authority, basic courtesies, honesty, good manners and right conduct and value essential for leadership;
7. develop child’s sense of responsibility, respect for property, proper use of time and material possessions; and
8. develop awareness and appreciation of the beauty of the world around us. Personnel Development
The school recognizes the significance of the role played by its personnel as a factor in achieving its goals. It aims to:
1.Up lift their economic condition by giving them equitable salaries and benefits;
2. Provide opportunities for their personal and professional growth;
3. Encourage and support attendance to seminars/training and the like, which are directly related to their field of work;
4. Allow them to study for their advancement as long as it will not adversely affect their performance;
5. Update their knowledge, competence, and skills in teaching of its teacher;
6. Promote working condition of teamwork, cooperation, respect, concern and professionalism;
7. Provide facilities that will promote better working conditions and environment;
8. Provide pension and retirement plan for the personnel; and
9. Involve the personnel in planning and decision-making on matters in line with their works and responsibilities. Government Thrusts and Programs;
The school aims to;
1.Formulate a program that shall promote nutrition and health education to the parents and pupils;
2. Provide or arrange for opportunities for the parents to learn new technologies in food and material production leading to livelihood activities in the communities;
3. Create scholarship program;
4. Report properly to Dep-Ed its enrollment and performance for a given school-year; and,
5. Formulate a program on values education meaningful to the present time and situation.
6. Promote environmental protection & energy conservation
Cultural Development:
Preservation of Filipino ideals and culture is one of the primary aims of the school. The school shall in all times include/integrate the development of the Filipino culture. It shall open to its pupil’s materials, knowledge and experiences showing the rich culture of the Filipino. Community Extension
The school aims to help in the development of the community to which belongs. It aims to:
1. Formulate programs for adult education;
2. Formulate community service program as part of the curriculum of the school;
3. Promote the development of the community; and,
4. Participate in the activities of the community. Modus Operandi
Being a non-stock, non-profit institution, its member and officers do not receive any salary, allowances, honoraria or any form or remuneration whatsoever for the services they are rendering to the school.
