A poem about carrying heavy emotions that pull someone down, yet choosing to hold on. Even when life feels heavy, one still chooses to keep fighting because, somehow and somewhere, there is a tiny fuel of hope that drives the heart every day. A hope that there is a road different from yesterday and a tiny light that reminds the heart to keep going.

Every time you walk into a hospital, you make a huge assumption: that the system meant to heal you won't harm you instead.

Right now, that trust is wearing dangerously thin.

It is easy to blame medical mistakes on a single tired doctor or a distracted nurse. But blaming front-line workers is just a convenient excuse that protects the people truly in charge. The reality is much worse: our healthcare system is running on the absolute edge of disaster.

When hospital leaders stretch workers to their limits and lawmakers care more about budgets than human life, mistakes aren't accidents anymore. They are bound to happen. Exhausted nurses aren't failing us; they are trapped in a system built to fail. Every wrong drug, every missed warning, and every poor handoff is the direct result of a culture that puts speed and cost ahead of safety.

Worst of all is the forced silence. Healthcare workers who spot dangerous problems are often pressured to stay quiet to protect the hospital's reputation. We have built a workplace where speaking up puts your job at risk, while hiding mistakes becomes the safest choice.

We are gambling with human lives, relying entirely on burnt-out healers to hold together a collapsing system.

Fixing this takes more than empty promises. It requires real accountability from executives and lawmakers. We need complete honesty, safe ways to report mistakes without fear of punishment, and an immediate end to the severe understaffing that turns basic hospital visits into a dangerous risk. Until leaders fix these deep cracks, going to the doctor will remain far more dangerous than it should ever be.
