Guided by the theme, “𝐒𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭, 𝐒𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧: 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐬 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫, 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬, 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐞𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐎𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐬,” 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐚 𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐉𝐒𝐖𝐀𝐏 𝐟𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲.

The day began with an engaging discussion from the Resource Speaker, who challenged the officers to deepen their leadership skills and reflect on what it truly means to lead with compassion, commitment, and purpose. More than simply holding a position, leadership was affirmed as a responsibility to serve—placing people, community, and mission at the heart of every action.

The team-building activities brought energy, laughter, and meaningful challenges. Through activities such as “Sealost,” the officers were challenged to collaborate, communicate effectively, solve problems, and make decisions under pressure. Each challenge reminded them that obstacles become more manageable when people come together with trust, shared purpose, and a willingness to support one another.

Beyond the games and activities, the day became an opportunity to build genuine connections through conversations, shared experiences, collective victories, and moments of reflection. The officers strengthened not only their teamwork but also their commitment to the values that guide them as future social workers and Assumptionist leaders.

Because leadership is not about standing above others—it is about standing with others.

𝐂𝐚𝐝𝐮𝐧𝐚𝐧 Davao City holds 72 cases ranking 1st among the region; Philippines ranked 3rd globally for human trafficking thus making Human Trafficking as this era’s modern-day slavery, Risks faced by migrant workers, plus efforts to strengthen vigilance and enforce ordinances on legitimate agencies. The Bureau of Immigration as our last line of defense, and the hard truth: many victims are betrayed by fellow Filipinos.

From protecting migrant workers and spotting the warning signs or red flags, to reporting suspicious activity to the authorities and caring for survivors and that every contribution counts, whether you are a student, teacher, employee, government official, human trafficking ends only when we stay alert, refuse to ignore what is happening, and stand together as one nation.

Yesterday, the 𝐉𝐒𝐖𝐀𝐏 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐥𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔–𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟕 officially marked the beginning of another meaningful chapter for the Junior Social Workers' Association of the Philippines – Assumption College of Davao.

It was a day of welcoming new beginnings, introducing our newly elected officers, honoring the dedication of our outgoing leaders, and revisiting the Constitution and By-Laws that continue to guide our organization.

More than a gathering, it was a reminder that leadership is rooted in service, compassion, accountability, and a shared commitment to social justice. As one JSWAP family, we move forward with renewed purpose—ready to learn, serve, and create meaningful change in our communities.
