✨ REORIENTATION, DEAN’S LIST RECOGNITION, AND SOCIALIZATION DAY
📅 December 11, 2025 ✨
What a day, BSSW community 💖
Our Reorientation, Dean’s List Recognition, and Socialization Day was filled with learning, celebration, and genuine connection.
The reorientation gave us a moment to pause, realign, and reconnect with the purpose and values of the Social Work program. It reminded us why we chose this path and how our role as future social workers calls for both heart and responsibility.
A huge congratulations to our Dean’s Listers 🎓✨
Your hard work, consistency, and commitment to excellence truly reflect the values of the profession. You are proof that academic excellence and service can go hand in hand.
The day became even more fun and alive through our games and socialization activities. From the Longest Line to 4 Pics 1 Word with Tableau, we saw creativity, teamwork, quick thinking, and lots of laughter. These moments showed that learning can be joyful and that connection builds community.
The sharing of experiences from the Toruyan Exposure and Manay Relief Operation grounded the event in real social work practice. Hearing these stories reminded us that beyond the classroom, social work is about presence, empathy, and standing with communities in both struggle and hope.
Thank you to everyone who participated, shared, played, and showed up with full energy. May we continue to carry this sense of purpose, excellence, and community as we move forward together. 🩷✨

On November 25, 2024, JSWAP gathered BSSW Day Class (8AM to 12NN) and Evening Class (5PM to 9PM) students at ACD AVR1 for a meaningful celebration of Children’s Month and Human Rights Day.
Our guest speaker, Ms. Malaya Genotiva, introduced Project Saysay, highlighting social realities through a powerful video on forced displacement where communities were driven away from their ancestral lands without legal grounds or due process. Her talk, “From Awareness to Action: Protecting Our RIGHTS, CHILDREN, and COMMUNITIES,” reminded us that human rights are universal, inherent, and must be actively defended.
Students also participated in a group activity where they selected and explained pressing social issues related to children's rights and human rights, deepening their understanding of how these challenges affect real communities.
The event concluded with a symbolic Pledge of Commitment, where participants pressed their white-painted thumbs onto a black cloth, representing unity and unwavering resolve: “Sa pagkakaisa at matatag na paninindigan, pinagtitibay namin ang paninindigang ito para sa mga batang patuloy na lumalaban, para sa mga pamilyang naghahangad ng katarungan, para sa mga susunod na henerasyon, at para sa isang Pilipinas na kumikilala sa dignidad at karapatan ng bawat tao.”
A day of learning became a call to action, igniting a shared flame of advocacy to protect children's rights and uphold human dignity for all.

As we celebrate Children’s Month and Human Rights Day, we affirm one truth: every child deserves protection, and every person deserves dignity.
Children are our future—deserving of love, safety, and opportunities to grow. Social workers play a vital role in protecting these rights and uplifting families and communities.
Human Rights Day reminds us that no matter who we are, we are all entitled to freedom, fairness, and respect.
Let us continue building a community where children can dream freely and every person is valued. 💙🌍
