ABES receives Healthy Settings Award 2026

A. Bonifacio Elementary School proudly received the Healthy Settings Award during the Healthy Settings Enablers’ Recognition 2026 held on September 4, 2026, at The Ritz Hotel at Garden Oases, Davao City.
The recognition honors ABES for its implementation of the Oplan Kalusugan sa DepEd–Healthy Learning Institutions (OKD-HLI) Program, which earned a Very Satisfactory rating for the 2025 program implementation.
Our heartfelt gratitude goes to Juvelyn Rongcales, Talomo East District Nurse, and the Division OKD-HLI Focals, spearheaded by Dr. Rachelle Jean S. Lacurom, for their invaluable guidance and support.

ABES Drum and Lyre Corps beats to the rhythm of Kadayawan 2026

A. Bonifacio Elementary School (ABES) Drum and Lyre Corps joined the Pamulak ug Indak-Indak sa Kadayawan Parade on Sunday, August 16, 2026, as Contingent No. 8.

The young performers marched along the parade route, showcasing their musical skills, discipline, and teamwork before spectators who gathered for the annual celebration.

The participation of the ABES Drum and Lyre Corps highlighted the school’s support for learners’ talents and provided an opportunity for the young musicians to represent ABES in one of Davao City’s major cultural events.

The parade was part of Kadayawan sa Dabaw 2026, a celebration of Davao City’s culture, heritage, diversity, and unity.

ABES campus journalist, nag-Top 4 sa Pagsulat ng Kolum

DAVAO CITY — Nakibahagi ang A. Bonifacio Elementary School (ABES) sa Davao City Campus Journalism Academy Year 4 na isinagawa sa Crossing Bayabas National High School noong Agosto 8–9, 2026, bilang paghahanda para sa nalalapit na Division Schools Press Conference.
Siyam na campus journalists (CJs) mula sa ABES ang lumahok sa iba’t ibang indibidwal na patimpalak, kabilang sina Leapril Badal, Angeluz Toledo, Kayrah Nicole Quintanilla, Rhaysien Dennise Amador, Rafael John Ang, Xiamara Pearl Jorolan, Choi Lee Madanlo, Jamley Zane Alba, at Princess Thea Gentilizo.
Namukod-tangi naman si Angeluz Toledo matapos makamit ang Top 4 sa Pagsulat ng Kolum, na nagbigay ng karangalan sa ABES sa naturang paligsahan.
Sa pamamagitan ng kanilang pakikilahok, ipinakita ng siyam na campus journalists ng ABES ang kanilang husay, dedikasyon, at tapang sa larangan ng pamamahayag.
Ang kanilang karanasan sa akademya ay nagsilbing mahalagang paghahanda upang higit pang mapaunlad ang kanilang kasanayan sa pagsulat, pagbabalita, at iba pang anyo ng campus journalism.

Wikang Filipino at AI, Pinagtibay sa Pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa sa A. Bonifacio Elementary School

Matagumpay na ipinagdiwang ng A. Bonifacio Elementary School ang Pambungad na palatuntunan sa Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa 2026 na may temang "Wikang Filipino at AI: Kasangkapan sa Pananaliksik, Tulay sa Yaman ng Impormasyon." Layunin ng programa na higit pang mapalalim ang pagpapahalaga ng mga mag-aaral sa Wikang Filipino habang ipinakikilala ang makabuluhan at responsableng paggamit ng Artificial Intelligence (AI) bilang kasangkapan sa pananaliksik at pagkatuto.

Isa sa mga tampok na gawain sa pagdiriwang ay ang Paligsahan sa kaalaman na nilahukan ng mga mag-aaral mula Kindergarten hanggang Grade 6. Sa nasabing paligsahan, ipinamalas ng mga kalahok ang kanilang talino, kahusayan sa pagsagot, at pagpapahalaga sa wikang pambansa sa pamamagitan ng pagsagot sa mga tanong tungkol sa Wikang Filipino, kultura, kasaysayan, at iba pang pangkalahatang kaalaman. Naging masigla at makahulugan ang kompetisyon dahil sa aktibong pakikilahok ng mga mag-aaral, g**o, punong g**o at mga magulang na sumuporta sa programa.

Nagbigay naman ng makabuluhang mensahe ang , Tagapag-ugnay sa Filipino ng Paaralan na si Gng. Jasmicristy V. Recla, kung saan binigyang-diin niya ang kahalagahan ng patuloy na paggamit, pagpapayaman, at pagmamahal sa Wikang Filipino sa panahon ng makabagong teknolohiya. Ayon sa kanya, ang Artificial Intelligence ay maaaring magsilbing mabisang katuwang sa pananaliksik at pag-aaral kung ito ay gagamitin nang may pananagutan, kritikal na pag-iisip, at pagpapahalaga sa sariling wika at kultura.

Naging matagumpay ang pagdiriwang sa tulong ng kooperasyon ng buong komunidad ng A. Bonifacio Elementary School na pinangungunahan ng punong g**o na si G. Leopoldo C Cadeña Jr. Ang nasabing programa ay hindi lamang nagbigay ng pagkakataon sa mga mag-aaral na maipamalas ang kanilang kaalaman, kundi nagpatibay rin ng kanilang pagmamahal sa Wikang Filipino bilang mahalagang tulay sa kaalaman, pagkakakilanlan, at pagkakaisa ng bawat Pilipino sa makabagong panahon.

Line 2 clinches boys' taekwondo title; Line 3 tops girls' division in Talomo East District Meet

DAVAO CITY – Line 2, represented by A. Bonifacio Elementary School and Generoso Elementary School, won the boys' taekwondo championship, while Line 3, represented by Doña Soledad Dolor Elementary School and Dr. Jovito S. Francisco Elementary School, claimed the girls' title in the Talomo East District Meet 2026 held on August 25, 2026 at the A. Bonifacio Elementary School Gym.
In the boys' division, Line 1, represented by Leon A. Garcia, Sr. Elementary School, placed second, while Line 3, represented by Doña Soledad Dolor Elementary School, finished third.
In the girls' division, Line 2, represented by A. Bonifacio Elementary School, secured the silver medal, while Line 1, represented by Leon Garcia Elementary School, earned the bronze medal.
The taekwondo competition was one of the events in the Talomo East District Meet 2026, bringing together elementary athletes from participating schools to compete for district honors and qualification to UNIT MEET 2026.

A. Bonifacio Elementary School Earns Very Satisfactory Rating During Oplan Kalusugan sa Deped - Healthy Learning Institutions (OKD-HLI) Regional Validation

A. Bonifacio Elementary School (ABES) successfully underwent the Oplan Kalusugan sa Deped - Healthy Learning Institutions (OKD-HLI) Regional Validation for SY 2024-2025, a flagship initiative of the Department of Health (DOH) in partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd) and City Health Office (CHO), on July 30, 2026, at 7:00 AM.

The validation highlighted the school’s unwavering commitment to providing a safe, healthy, and learner-centered environment where every learner can thrive academically, physically, socially, and emotionally. Through the collective efforts of the entire school community, ABES proudly earned a Very Satisfactory Rating, recognizing the school’s excellence in promoting health, safety, and learner well-being.

The validation was conducted by the Regional Validation Team composed of the following:

Their guidance, leadership, and unwavering commitment inspired the entire school community to work collaboratively in achieving excellence in the implementation of the Six Pillars of the OKD-HLI standards.

Special recognition is likewise given to Ms. Lo**ta A. Gofredo, Oplan Kalusugan sa DepEd–Healthy Learning Institutions (OKD-HLI) School Coordinator, for spearheading the preparation and ensuring the successful implementation of the program.
