Opening the doors to a season of engaging, meaningful, and student-centered learning, F. Bangoy Central Elementary School SPED Center formally began the much-anticipated Academic Recovery and Accessible Learning or ARAL Summer Program, designed to be both enriching and enjoyable, which aims to help learners strengthen essential skills while rediscovering the joy of studying during the break.
This initiative of the Department of Education focuses on addressing learning gaps that may have developed over the past academic year, particularly in key areas such as reading and mathematics. Through a series of structured yet interactive activities, students will be given the opportunity to review, practice, and build confidence in competencies that are crucial for their academic success.
The program saw a strong and encouraging turnout of learners across grade levels, with seven (7) participants from Grade One, four (4) from Grade Two, ten (10) from Grade Three, and seven (7) from Grade Five. Supporting their learning journey is a dedicated team of eleven (11) ARAL teachers, committed to guiding and inspiring each student throughout the program.
โARAL Summer Program is conducted to address the learning gap and to prepare and make the learners ready for the coming school year. Because of class disruptions during the past school year, and even all the intended competencies were taught, there were learners who were not able to master those competencies due to attendance issues and learning challenges. That's why, this ARAL summer is conducted. We just focus on Math and reading because assessments particularly in Comprehensive Rapid Literacy Assessment (CRLA), Philippine Informal Reading Inventory (Phil-IRI) and Rapid Mathematics Assessment (RMA) revealed alarming results. This 20-day summer program is already enough to make relevant impact in learnersโ preparedness,โ school principal Troy S. Mangopot said, emphasizing the importance and purpose of the program.
Spanning 20 days, the ARAL Summer Program runs from May 7 until June 2, 2026. From Monday to Thursday, the selected ARAL learners will engage in focused learning sessions in reading and mathematics, with volunteer teachers. This also aims to strengthen the learnersโ foundational skills in a supportive environment.
The school further highlighted the crucial role of parents, who were actively involved during the orientation phase, reinforcing the idea that education is a shared responsibility between the school and the home.
โWe involved the parents during orientation because we believe that parentsโ support is vital to make the program effective,โ Sir Mangopot added.
With the school's friendly and supportive environment, the ARAL Summer Program stands as a testament to its commitment to ensuring that no learner is left behind โ turning the summer break into a valuable opportunity for growth, improvement, and renewed confidence.

We are pleased to announce that regular face-to-face classes will resume on Monday, October 20, 2025, following thorough safety assessments and consultations with local authorities. The previously implemented modular, asynchronous, or blended learning modalities, enacted on October 15, 2025, are hereby lifted.
The safety and stability of our community remain our top priority. After careful evaluation of structural integrity, utility restoration, and seismic activity reports, we confirm that schools are safe for the return of all learners and personnel.
Teaching and non-teaching personnel are required to report onsite beginning October 20, 2025, to resume regular operations. Teachers are directed to facilitate a smooth transition back to in-person learning, address any gaps from the interim period, and ensure all learners receive necessary academic support.
We extend our deepest gratitude to everyone for your resilience, cooperation, and adaptability during this challenging time. Let us continue to prioritize safety by adhering to emergency protocols, staying informed through official channels, and supporting one another as we reconnect in our classrooms.
Together, we reaffirm our commitment to fostering a secure and nurturing environment where quality education thrives.
