The Philippine College of Technology (PCT), originally known as Philippine School of Technology, was established in 1993 by its Founding Chairman & CEO, Dr.Gener A. It initially offered short-term programs, where students were able to train in a particular skills as typing, auto servicing, machine servicing and electronics servicing, to name a few. After a few years, PCT’s short-term program offerings widened in answer to the growing to the demand for skilled workers in the paramedical industry. It offered Nursing Aide, Pharmacy Aide, Physical Therapy Aide, and Physiotherapy Aide Programs. PCT also started to offer one-and two-year Tech/Voc programs registered with TESDA: Hotel & Restaurant Management, Computer Programming, Computer Secretarial, Computer Technology, Automotive Technology, Electronics Technology, Health Care Services and more. In 2000, the school officially became Philippine College of Technology with the introduction of its first degree program, BS in Hotel & Restaurant Management. Since then, PCT has endeavored to improve its academic standards and increase its varied course offerings. PCT now offers a total of 11 degree programs, 6 two-year programs, 5 one-year programs, 26 short-term programs and 5 training workshops. PCT offers In-Demand Ladderized Programs for Local & International Market. PCT now also offers 1st year & 2nd year Junior Technical Highschool department with emphasis in Leadership and Technopreneurship. It is also an IELTS (International English Language Testing System) Review Center and with a pro-native English speaking instructor. PCT is in partnership also with bizzBoost, school of Entrepreneurship SME Training center of PCT. PCT is a TESDA-accredited competency assessment center for Household Services NC II, Caregiving NC II, Food & Beverages Services NC II, Commercial Cooking NC II and Food Processing NC II, since September 2008. It also has a Public Employment Services Office (PESO) accredited by the Dept. of Labor and Employment (DOLE), which facilitates jobs placement for its students and alumni.

The Philippine College of Technology (PCT) is accepting applicants for TESDA Scholarship opportunities for the 3-Year Diploma in Software Development Technology with allowance.

Priority will be given to Senior High School graduates who are currently not working and are ready to commit to studying.

Requirements:
• Form 137 – 1 Original Copy
• Form 138 (Report Card) – 1 Original Copy
• PSA/NSO Birth Certificate – 1 Original + 2 Photocopies
• Certificate of Good Moral Character
• 2 pcs. Passport-size ID Pictures
• Must not have any NC II certification

Ideas took shape on paper as PCT students brought their creativity, skills, and school spirit to the Poster-Making Competition held during the PCT 34th Foundation Day Celebration.

Through color, symbols, and visual storytelling, participants interpreted this year’s theme, “Celebrating Our Legacy, Uniting Our Community,” showing how different programs and talents come together as one PCT community.

Students from PCT’s Paramedical Department took part in a Japanese Language orientation designed to introduce them to the value of learning Nihongo and the opportunities that can come with understanding another language and culture.

The session encouraged students to look beyond language as another subject to study. It introduced Japanese as a practical skill that can help them communicate, adapt, and prepare for opportunities where language and cultural understanding matter, particularly for those considering future pathways connected to Japan.

As part of the PCT 34th Foundation and Club Day Celebration, students from different programs came together for the Quiz Bee Competition, putting their knowledge, quick thinking, and teamwork to the test.

The competition brought another layer of excitement to the Foundation Day celebration, giving students the opportunity to represent their programs while learning, connecting, and enjoying a healthy challenge with fellow PCTians.

PCT's Japanese Language Review students put their learning into practice through a classroom exchange with visiting students from Japan.

A Japanese language lesson became an opportunity for real conversation as students from PCT’s Japanese Language Review welcomed visiting Japanese students for a classroom exchange at Philippine College of Technology.

Through introductions, conversations, and shared activities, PCT learners were able to practice what they have been studying in a setting that went beyond exercises and textbooks. At the same time, they introduced their visitors to Davao, PCT, and aspects of Filipino culture and everyday life.

The exchange allowed learning to move in both directions. Students listened, asked questions, shared experiences, and discovered similarities and differences through direct interaction with one another.

For PCT, opportunities like this give language learning a practical and human dimension. Learning Japanese is not only about developing vocabulary and communication skills. It is also about building the confidence and cultural understanding needed to connect with people beyond the classroom.
