𝐎𝐅𝐅𝐈𝐂𝐈𝐀𝐋 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓

The HCDC SSG Commission on Elections acknowledges the recent public threat circulating within the Holy Cross of Davao College community. While the nature and credibility of the threat have yet to be established, we believe that any public statement that may potentially compromise the safety and security of the community should be treated seriously and responsibly.

We encourage anyone who has relevant information to report it to the appropriate school authorities or law enforcement personnel rather than attempting to investigate or confront anyone themselves. We also ask everyone to avoid spreading rumors and to wait for verified information from the proper authorities.

Ex Fide Ad Veritatem!

The Holy Cross of Davao College (HCDC) community appreciates the value of life, peace, unity, and solidarity. As one Catholic Archdiocesan Educational Institution, we stand in solidarity with the Ateneo de Zamboanga University (AdZU) community following the tragic shooting incident that happened on August 18, 2026. Our sincerest sympathies go to those students and individuals who were injured, their families, friends, and everyone affected by this sad event.

HCDC community is praying for the eternal repose of the souls of those who died, recovery of those who were injured, and calling for compassion, unity, and peace. As a community, HCDC believes that no member of an academic community should have to face any form of violence or fear in a place dedicated to learning, growth, and service.

HCDC community condemns all forms of violence and expresses our compassionate support for the entire AdZU community in finding strength and comfort with one another. May this incident remind all of us of our shared values, accountabilities, and responsibilities in taking care of our brothers and sisters and to raise the awareness on valuing life as a God-given gift.

For by Your Holy Cross, You have redeemed the world.
