Today, we honor the First Peoples—the original stewards of our forests, rivers, mountains, and ancestral domains.
On this World Indigenous Peoples Day, we celebrate the resilience, wisdom, and enduring cultures of Indigenous communities who continue to defend not only their rights but also the future of our planet. Their struggle for self-determination, recognition of ancestral domains, and meaningful participation is inseparable from the pursuit of justice, peace, and sustainable development.
At ADDU Advocacy, we reaffirm our commitment to stand alongside Indigenous Peoples in advancing their rights, amplifying their voices, and protecting their heritage for generations to come.
No one is left behind when Indigenous Peoples are heard, respected, and empowered.

📢 Civil Society Summit for the Bangsamoro
Strengthening Constituencies for the Peace Process
🗓️ July 2–3, 2026
📍 Ateneo de Davao University
Ateneo de Davao University is honored to serve as the sacred third space where diverse voices can meet—not as adversaries, but as partners in the shared work of peace. At a time when dialogue is more necessary than ever, the University opens its doors to civil society organizations, peace advocates, government partners, faith leaders, youth, and communities to deepen our collective commitment to the Bangsamoro peace process.
Peace is not built by agreements alone. It is sustained by trust, participation, and the courage to keep talking, listening, and working together. We invite everyone to join this important gathering as we strengthen constituencies for a just, inclusive, and lasting peace in Mindanao.
Because dialogue is not merely an event—it is the path to peace.

The fight for human rights is inseparable from the fight for the environment. When forests fall, rivers die, and communities are displaced, justice itself is wounded. This World Environment Day, may we remember that the Earth is not inherited from us by future generations — it is only borrowed, and we are called to protect it with courage, urgency, and love.

Three Ateneos in Mindanao are saying "peace is a bridge—neglect it, and it falls. Now is the time to stand guard, act with urgency, and keep the promise of Bangsamoro peace alive."

STRONGER FOR TRUTH, STRONGER FOR DEMOCRACY
Statement Of Ateneo De Davao University on EDSA @40
As Ateneo de Davao University marks the 40th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution, we affirm that democracy responsibility is more than just a memory. In Mindanao—where communities continue to face poverty, conflict, and exclusion—the struggle for freedom and dignity remains urgent. EDSA reminds us that faith, conscience, and collective action can overcome fear and abuse of power.
As Fortiores 2030, ADDU’s strategic plan for justice, participation, and human dignity, begins to take shape, we commit ourselves to forming citizens and leaders who defend truth, uphold human rights, and reject corruption and historical distortion. Democracy is sustained only through vigilance, ethical leadership, and active participation—values that must be lived in our classrooms, our communities, and our public life.
EDSA is an unfinished movement. To honor it today is to resist authoritarianism, protect civic space, and work for justice and peace in Mindanao and the whole country. Ateneo de Davao stands with the Filipino people in building a future grounded in dignity, accountability, and the common good.

March 8 is International Women's Day!
On International Women’s Day, we honor the courage of women who organize, lead, nurture, resist, and transform communities every single day. From classrooms to courtrooms, from homes to halls of power—women continue to demand equality not as a favor, but as a right.
Advocacy for women’s rights means confronting violence, closing gaps in opportunity, ensuring safe spaces, and amplifying voices long silenced.
Gender equality is not optional. It is justice. It is democracy. It is human dignity in action.

On February 20, we mark the World Day of Social Justice — a reminder that justice is not charity, not convenience, and not optional. It is a duty.
Social justice means closing the gaps, amplifying voices from the margins, and building systems that are fair, accountable, and humane. From classrooms to communities, from policy work to people’s struggles — the work continues. ✊
