In response to the recent earthquake and while awaiting the official safety inspection of our school buildings, Pangyan Elementary School continued to implement the blended learning modality to ensure the safety of our learners and personnel.
Despite the challenges, our dedicated teachers remained committed to providing quality education by guiding and monitoring learners through various flexible learning approaches. Through constant communication and learning support, they made sure that education continued without interruption.

On June 11, 2026, engineers conducted a thorough inspection of the classrooms and school buildings at Pangyan Elementary School to ensure that all structures remain safe and secure for our learners following recent earthquake incident last June 8, 2026.
This inspection is an important step in safeguarding the well-being of our children and ensuring that they can continue their education in a safe learning environment. We extend our sincere gratitude to the City Engineer's Office for their commitment and assistance in assessing the structural integrity of our school facilities.

π THIRD DAY OF CLASSES THROUGH FLEXIBLE LEARNING MODE
June 10, 2026
On the third day of classes at Pangyan Elementary School, teaching and learning continued through the chosen flexible learning modes following the suspension of face-to-face classes due to the recent earthquake.
As the school classrooms are still awaiting inspection and clearance from the City Engineerβs Office, teachers remain committed to ensuring that learning continues by guiding and supporting learners through their respective group chats. Learning activities and instructions were provided to help learners accomplish the Opening Block lessons safely from their homes.
We commend our learners and parents for their active participation, cooperation, and dedication in embracing the flexible learning mode during this challenging time. Your support and commitment to education demonstrate resilience and the true spirit of partnership in learning.
Together, we continue to prioritize safety while ensuring that quality education remains accessible to all.

ππ FLEXIBLE LEARNING IN ACTION ππ
On the second day of classes, June 9, 2026, Pangyan Elementary School successfully continued its learning activities through the Flexible Learning Program following the suspension of face-to-face classes due to the earthquake that affected Mindanao.
Despite the unexpected disruption, our learners remained engaged and enthusiastic as they participated in the Opening Block Activities from the safety of their homes. Through self-introduction video recordings shared in their respective group chats, learners had the opportunity to introduce themselves, build connections with their classmates and teachers, and continue the warm welcome to the new school year.
The dedication and commitment of our teachers ensured that learning and meaningful classroom interactions continued despite the challenges brought by the earthquake. This reflects the resilience, adaptability, and unwavering spirit of the Pangyan ES community.
Together, we prove that learning never stops, even in difficult times.

In anticipation of possible aftershocks and pending the completion of ongoing structural assessments, government offices in Davao City, including local government offices and national government agencies, shall adopt a work-from-home arrangement tomorrow, June 9, 2026, EXCEPT for offices providing safety and security, health, sanitation, traffic management, social services, and disaster and emergency response services.
The private sector is encouraged to adopt similar arrangements to ensure the welfare and safety of their employees.
Face-to-face classes at all levels in both public and private educational institutions shall remain suspended tomorrow, June 9, 2026, pending the completion of safety inspections.
Educational institutions are encouraged to adopt online or distance learning modalities to ensure the welfare and safety of their students and personnel.

Private offices and institutions are likewise encouraged to do the same to ensure the welfare and safety of their employees .
