The CAHSC Phoenix is the official emblem of the College of Arts and Humanities Student Council, representing the collective identity, voice, and spirit of the student body effective beginning the incoming Academic Year 2026โ2027. It stands as a formal symbol of representation, unity, and continuity within the CAHmmunity of Humanistas, where all are invited to explore and reflect on the vision, mission, and branding that continue to shape its human-centered direction as it moves into transformation.
From this movement of becoming, from ember to emblem, from vision to form, the flame is awakened among Humanistas, carrying the identity, spirit, and purpose of a community forged through human experience and shaped by thought. In the ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐
๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ง๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ, this is no longer vision alone, but transformation made visible, rising in full motion.
In this ascent, every Humanista stands as one in the . From unity is born presence, and from presence is forged identity. What was once envisioned now breaks into reality, unfolding in power, in voice, and in becoming, leaving behind an impact that transforms.
At long last, the flame takes its final form. And now, it speaks as one, #๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐

Calls to defend press freedom and uphold truth resonated strongly as the World Press Freedom Day Symposium concluded on May 4,2026 at Lemito Hall, University of the Philippines Mindanao.
The four-hour forum brought together campus journalists, media advocates, and communication students in a timely discussion on the state of press freedom, both globally and within the Philippines. Speakers and participants underscored the increasing risks faced by journalists from coverage of armed conflicts abroad to the persistent threats of red-tagging, harassment, and censorship experienced locally.
Central to the discussion was the recognition that the struggle for press freedom is not confined to professional media institutions. Within universities, student journalists and communicators continue to navigate administrative pressures and systemic challenges that attempt to limit critical discourse and free expression.
Joining the symposium were Bachelor of Arts in Communication students from the University of the Immaculate Conception under the Communicators Organization for Development and Excellence (CODE), who participated alongside other attendees in the discussions and reflections on the role of media in society.
The event was held in partnership with Himati, the College Editors Guild of the Philippines, and the Communication Majorsโ Alliance of Davao, organized by the UP Mindanao Communicatorsโ Guild.
As the symposium closed, one message remained clear, the fight for press freedom is ongoing. Beyond commemoration, participants were urged to continue asserting the peopleโs right to information and to stand firm against all forms of repression that threaten the role of the press in a democratic society.

๐ฎ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ ๐๐ญ ๐๐๐๐๐โโThis yearโs World Press Freedom Day theme reminds us that peace is built on truth, and truth depends on a free press. Proclaimed by the United Nations in 1993, this day honors journalists who risk everything to inform, expose, and protect democracy.
In an era where misinformation spreads faster than facts, journalism becomes resistanceโnot by choice, but by necessity.
Every report written, every truth published, every story told is an act of defiance against erasure. As Maria Ressa, Nobel Peace Prize laureate and journalist, declares: โWithout facts, you canโt have truth. Without truth, you canโt have trust.โ And without trust, societies collapse into silence, fear, and distortion.
From CODE โ Communicators Organization for Development and Excellence, we take a firm stand:
