The first CheMustahan for the 1st Term of A.Y. 2026-2027 went down last September 18, 2026 via Microsoft Teams, and it was everything we needed! Concerns from different year levels of the program were raised and discussed, proving that our bonds go beyond just reactions and equations.

More than just a check-in, this kumustahan was our chance to reconnect as a family amidst the chaos of exams and deadlines. Because no matter how heavy the term gets, 𝗠𝗠𝗖𝗠-𝗝𝗣𝗜𝗖𝗵𝗘 𝗮𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗮 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝘂𝗽! 💛

𝐍𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑 𝐁𝐀𝐂𝐊 𝐃𝐎𝐖𝐍, 𝐍𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑 𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓? 𝐍𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑 𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐆𝐄𝐓.

On September 21, 1972, former President Ferdinand Marcos Sr. officially placed the Philippines under Martial Law, ting the rising communist insurgency and the conflict between Muslims and Christians in the south as justification.

Today marks the 54th anniversary of that declaration the same declaration that kept the Marcos family in power for over a decade, and was used to 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗼𝗺, 𝗱𝘂𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽.

This era remains one of the darkest chapters in Filipino history—a time when countless Filipinos fought, and many gave their lives, for the rights and freedoms we hold today. 𝗪𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘁, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻.

𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗼 𝘁𝗼 𝗕𝗮𝗴𝘂𝗶𝗼! ⛰️

Several MMCM-JPIChE Chemical Engineering students represented Mapúa Malayan Colleges Mindanao at the 2026 National Student Congress held at Saint Louis University, Baguio City, on September 15, 2026.

Our students participated in the National Quiz Bowl, Undergraduate Research Contest, and Chem-E Car, bringing their knowledge and ChE spirit to the national stage while upholding excellence and relevance. Notably, the Chem-E Car attained a 3rd place with their entry “CitriMotion” aimed to turn citrus waste intro sustainable autonomous motion.

The congress was also a chance to meet fellow future chemical engineers, exchange ideas and connect with professionals, and experience what it’s like to be part of a community that goes beyond the four walls of the classroom.

The light stays on! We are thrilled to share that 𝗠𝗔𝗣𝗨𝗔 𝗠𝗔𝗟𝗔𝗬𝗔𝗡 𝗖𝗢𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗚𝗘𝗦 𝗢𝗙 𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗗𝗔𝗡𝗔𝗢 – 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝘀 (𝗠𝗠𝗖𝗠 𝗝𝗣𝗜𝗖𝗛𝗘) has been officially renewed as a recognized student organization for the Academic Year 2026-2027!

Just as a single spark sustains a brilliant aurora, our shared drive for excellence, relevance, connection, and innovation is what keeps this organization glowing.
