The Ateneo de Davao University School of Engineering and Architecture proudly congratulates Team AquaMor for advancing to the iSpark International Pitching Competition (IIPC) 2026 Semi-Final and Final Round in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Their project, AquaMor: An Innovative Plant-Based Water Purification for Safe Water Access in Disaster Relief, Emergency Preparedness, and Outdoor Activities, showcases innovation grounded in real community needs. 💧

🎉 Two Ateneo de Davao University teams advance to the IIPC 2026 Semi-Final and Final Round!

The Ateneo de Davao University School of Engineering and Architecture (AdDU SEA) proudly congratulates Team CASCHA and Team StrataSense for being selected among the 20 shortlisted teams of the iSpark International Pitching Competition (IIPC) 2026. 🇵🇭✨

CASCHA: A Farm-to-Bottle Innovation for Sustainable Coffee Waste Utilization is represented by Karlo M. Ambasan, Chloe Denise D. Bañas, and Josiah Bernard L. Puebla from BS Industrial Engineering, together with Naomi Grace B. Lanzo from BS Chemistry. The team is guided by Dr. Ma. Theresa Espino, Engr. Francis Christopher Bation, and Mr. Ed Ivan Bardoquillo, RCh, MSc.

StrataSense – Portable Soil Resistivity Apparatus for Rapid Slope Assessment and Soil Classification was developed by Christian Sire R. Trinidad and Elijah John C. Cortez from BS Civil Engineering, together with Edward Joseph A. Sevilla and Kenji A. Takenaka from BS Electronics Engineering. The team is advised and mentored by Gerry “Bo” D. Batas Jr., MEng-CE, and Mikko Bryant B. Alinsub, MEng-ECE.

These outstanding Tiger innovators will advance to the Semi-Final and Final Rounds on November 25, 2026, at the Auditorium Arena, Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

This recognition reflects the creativity, interdisciplinary collaboration, and innovative spirit of our Ateneo community as our students bring locally developed solutions to the international stage.

Congratulations to Team AYASIB and Team JAXCKS for their exemplary representation of the Philippines at the Malaysia Rocket CanSat Competition 2026 in Perak, Malaysia.

Last Friday, September 4, the Ateneo de Davao University School of Engineering and Architecture (AdDU SEA)welcomed the MJ-STeP Japanese Delegation, headed by Mr. Yoshiaki Miwa, President of MJ-STeP, former Ambassador of Japan to the Solomon Islands, and former Consul General in Davao, as part of the delegation’s second visit to the Philippines for the development of a joint research collaboration.

A key purpose of the visit was the participation of Prof. Toyonobu “Nobu” Usuki, Ph.D. of Sophia University, who has kindly agreed to serve as Principal Investigator coordinating the joint research project. Through discussions with Philippine researchers and relevant government agencies, the delegation aims to gain a comprehensive understanding of the proposed collaboration and its overall framework.

The visit also included discussions, coordination with Philippine-side researchers, and field survey activities intended to support the formulation of the joint research plan and identify opportunities for meaningful and sustained collaboration.

AdDU SEA is grateful for the opportunity to engage with the MJ-STeP delegation and looks forward to contributing to a productive international research partnership.

Today, the Ateneo de Davao University School of Engineering and Architecture (AdDU SEA) joined the Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines (IECEP) – Davao Chapter in promoting Electronics Engineering education during a visit to F. Bustamante National High School. ⚡📡

The students had a fun and engaging introduction to BS Electronics Engineering, learning more about the course, its applications, and the many opportunities available in the field.

A highlight of the activity was the Smart Home demonstration brought by AdDU SEA, which gave the students a hands-on glimpse of how electronics, automation, and smart technologies can be applied in everyday life. 🏠✨

Through activities like this, AdDU SEA continues to support IECEP in inspiring young learners to explore the possibilities of a future in Electronics Engineering.
