The UP Mindanao Debate Varsity proudly congratulates its delegates for their outstanding performance and achievements at the 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, held from 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟭𝟭-𝟭𝟰, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, hosted by the University of the Philippines Debate Society.

𝐊𝐞𝐥𝐯𝐢𝐧 𝐋𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐧 (2-BSBIO), 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐎𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐳𝐚 (Masters in Management 2026), and 𝐀𝐥𝐲𝐬𝐬𝐚 𝐈𝐥𝐚𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐧 (BA Communication and Media Arts 2025) emerged victorious in the tournament as 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗲-𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀, with Kelvin hailed as the 𝟳𝘁𝗵 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗴 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗿.

𝐀𝐱𝐞𝐥 𝐀𝐧𝐧 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐡𝐢𝐭 (2-BACMA), 𝐄𝐥𝐥𝐚 𝐍𝐢𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐄𝐬𝐩𝐚ñ𝐨𝐥 (2-BAE), and 𝐄𝐫𝐥𝐣𝐞𝐰𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐃𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐨 (2-BSBIO) also delivered commendable performances and demonstrated strong teamwork throughout their respective debate rounds.

On the adjudication front, 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐰 𝐅𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐱 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐲 (2-BACMA) made his official debut as an adjudicator in a debate tournament, wherein he showed great promise and resilience based on his performance.

Also, as a composite judge, 𝐑𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐭 𝐄𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫 (PSCHS-CRC) emerged as a 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗱𝗷𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 in the tournament, opening the way for him to wrap up his PIDC experience as a 𝗣𝗿𝗲-𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗿.

The UP Mindanao Debate Varsity proudly congratulates its contingent for their strong and commendable performance at the 14th Zamboanga Debate Open, held from April 18 to 19, 2026, and hosted by the Ateneo Debate Union.

In the Open Category, Axel Banihit (2-BACMA), Fred Omalza (2-MM), and Alyssa Ilaguison (BACMA 2025) broke as the 7th Open Breaking Team and advanced to the Open Grand Finals, demonstrating exceptional skill and competitive excellence throughout the tournament.

Meanwhile, Xious Sardoma (2-BSCS), competing in a composite team with Ernest Michael Polinar of the SPC Speech Society and Mac Respecia of the USEP Debate Varsity, broke in the Novice Category and finished as Novice Quarterfinalists, marking a strong and promising showing.

On the adjudication front, Eliana Nicole Engbino (2-BSFT) exemplified rigor and keen judgment as a competing judge, contributing thoughtfully to the tournament’s deliberative process.

The UP Mindanao Debate Varsity proudly congratulates Ella Nicole Español (2-BAE CW) for being named 3rd Best Judge at the Shinri Debate Open 2026, held last April 11–12, 2026 via Discord. She chaired the Open Quarterfinals and broke into both the Novice Grand Finals and Open Grand Finals as a panelist.

The UP Mindanao Debate Varsity proudly celebrates the contingent’s remarkable run at the 10th Mindanao Intervarsity, held last March 27–29, 2025, at Xavier University in Cagayan de Oro City.

Erljewish Durango (2BSBIO) and Xious Sardoma (2BSCS) delivered an outstanding performance, emerging as Novice Grand Finalists and showcasing exceptional grit and growth throughout the tournament.

Kelvin Lampon (2BSBIO), debating in composite with Robert Espinar (PSCHS CRC), fought through and finished as Open Pre-Quarterfinalists in the tournament.

Juliana Gayatin (3BSFT) and Matthew Cambagay (2BACMA) also put forward an exemplary run, showing resilience across their rounds.

On the adjudication front, Ella Nicole Español (2BAE CW) and Axel Ann Banihit (2BACMA) were breaking adjudicators. Ella proudly served as a panelist in the Novice Semifinals, while Axel adjudicated in the Open Pre-Quarterfinals. Eliana Nicole Engbino (2BSFT) and Nissi Mandanao (3BAE CW) likewise delivered commendable performances on the adjudication track.

Erljewish Durango (2-BSBIO) and Nissi Odessa Mandanao (2-BAE CW) finished as College Semifinalists in the tournament. Both Erl and Nissi were also recognized as 9th Best Speakers in the college category, showing the strength of their individual performances and their ability to deliver impactful speeches throughout the tournament.

On the adjudication front, Ella Nicole Español (2-BAE CW) and Eliana Nicole Engbino (2-BSFT) both broke as adjudicators in the tournament. Ella Nicole was a Subsidized Adjudicator and served as Open Quarterfinals Panelist and Mahalta Cup Finals Chair, while Eliana Nicole served as Open Quarterfinals Chair and Mahalta Cup Finals Panelist.

Meanwhile, Xious Sardoma (2-BSCS) competing in composite with Ramil Arreza of the UM Debate Society and Stephanie Leaño of the SPC Speech Society, embodied determination and competitive spirit throughout the tournament.

UP Mindanao Debate Varsity congratulates its contingent for their outstanding performance at the Baguio Asian Parliamentary 2026, hosted by Baguio City High School Debate from February 20–22, 2026.

In the Open Category, Kelvin Dwayne Lampon (2-BSBIO), in composite with Matthew Tinamisan and Gene Macawile of PUP School of Debaters, were named Open Grand Finals Champions, with Kelvin recognized as Finals Best Speaker. Their dedication and teamwork were truly inspiring throughout the tournament.

On the adjudication side, Ella Nicole Español (2-BAE CW) earned the Second Best Judge award and chaired both the Open Semifinals and Open Octofinals.
