Celebrating the Resounding Success of The S3 Project (Students' Safe Spaces)! ๐
From May 27 to June 22, 2024, our school transformed key areas into welcoming, inclusive spaces for students to study, relax, and connect. The project was a huge success, thanks to the hard work and dedication of our amazing community!
The Jura Park, Nursing Building, 4th Floor Canteen, and Satellite Canteen of the Dentistry Building were reimagined as vibrant, comfortable hubs that fostered a sense of belonging and well-being for all.
Let's keep building on this momentum and continue making our school a place where everyone can thrive. Together, we're shaping a brighter future for our students, faculty, employees, and the DMSFI community. ๐ช

Hey there, amazing students! ๐ This Thursday (June 6, 2024), we're flipping the script and putting the spotlight on your voices and experiences. We want to dedicate this day to open, honest, and empowering conversations about mental health and well-being.
๐ง โจ We're reaching out to you to seek your consent and participation in insightful interviews. We'd love to hear your thoughts, feelings, and discoveries about mental health as we ask you about:
๐ How have you been feeling lately?
๐ What are you grateful for this week?
๐ What valuable discoveries have you made over the week?
..and other thought-provoking questions that delve into the depths of mental wellness.
Let's create a safe space for sharing, understanding, and empowering one another. Your voices matter, and your experiences can inspire and support your peers. Together, let's break the stigma and foster a community where open conversations about mental health are valued and celebrated. ๐๐ฟ

Q: How to control stress and anxiety? I am unable to maintain eye contact while asking questions or while making communication with my teachers. Can you please give some tips to how to make good eye contact??
A: First of all, try and think about why you feel like you shouldnโt make eye contact with your teachers. What thoughts go through your mind? What is it about your teachers that intimidates you? What is it that makes you feel uncomfortable? Is there something about your culture that makes you feel that way? You can use the 50-70 rule. Basically, when having a conversation with someone, you can maintain eye contact for 50% of the time if you are speaking and 70% of the time if you are listening. Your teachers are people just like you. Maybe if you stop thinking about them as people to be scared of, you would be able to establish eye contact with them.

Q: How to decide if the patient needs medication or therapy for mental health?
A: This can be determined by the severity of the symptoms and the level of dysfunction that the client is experiencing. Ideally, a psychologist and a psychiatrist can work hand in hand to stabilize the client.
