College of Development Management (CDM) first-year students recently participated in an engaging Library Instruction Session organized by the Mintalโ€“LRC team. The session aimed to equip students with foundational knowledge on the libraryโ€™s resources, services, and facilities to support their academic journey.

Students were introduced to essential library rules and regulations, available services, facilities, and collections. A guided library tour was also conducted to familiarize them with the different areas and resources of the library.

The session included an introduction to the use of the Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) and Turnitin, as well as the library card application, validation, and replacement procedures. Students were also oriented on proper library etiquette and the importance of
complying with library policies.

In addition, students were introduced to ULRCโ€™s digital library services, including e-books, online journals, and other electronic academic resources that support their learning and research needs.

Throughout the session, students interacted with the approachable Mintalโ€“LRC personnel, who provided guidance on maximizing the libraryโ€™s resources and services. The initiative aims to foster independence, confidence, and academic readiness among students as they begin their college journey.

[๐—ก๐—ข๐—ง๐—œ๐—–๐—˜ ๐—ข๐—™ ๐—›๐—ข๐—Ÿ๐—œ๐——๐—”๐—ฌ] This June 12, 2026 (Friday), the nation commemorates the 128th Araw ng Kalayaan (Independence Day), a Regular Holiday, honoring the courage and sacrifices of the heroes who fought for our freedom. Their enduring legacy reminds us that the liberties we enjoy today were won through generations of resilience, patriotism, and collective action.
The University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) joins the Filipino people in celebrating this historic occasion and honoring the values of freedom, unity, and nationhood that continue to shape our collective future.
As a public institution of higher learning, USeP remains committed to nurturing informed citizens, advancing knowledge, and empowering communities through accessible and transformative education. Through teaching, research, innovation, and public service, the University contributes to the ongoing work of nation-building and the pursuit of a more just, inclusive, and progressive society.
In observance of Philippine Independence Day, work and classes across all USeP campuses are suspended.

DID YOU KNOW? The Philippines laid the groundwork to become the first constitutional republic in Asia when its independence was proclaimed on June 12, 1898, in Kawit, Cavite. During this historic declaration, the Philippine flag was officially unfurled for the first time, and the national anthemโ€”then known as the Marcha Filipina Magdaloโ€”was played. This pivotal event culminated in the formal inauguration of the First Philippine Republic on January 23, 1899.

The University Learning Resource Center (ULRC) Mintal Campus had its Books and Bites 2026 activity last May 18, 2026.

Anchored on the ULRCโ€™s commitment to promote student well-being alongside academic excellence, the initiative offered an inviting space where learners could momentarily unwind and recharge. Light snacks were served, complemented by a selection of curated reading materials designed to encourage both relaxation and reflection.

More than just a break from studying, Books and Bites embodied ULRCโ€™s continuing effort to create a supportive and nurturing learning environment. By combining resources for both the mind and spirit, the event highlighted the importance of balance and self-care in academic life.

The activity was warmly received by students, many of whom expressed appreciation for the thoughtful initiative. Their positive feedback underscored the eventโ€™s success in fostering a sense of community and care within the campus.

As the University continues to champion student-centered programs, the success of Books and Bites reaffirms how small, yet meaningful initiatives can make a lasting difference in the learning journey.

Anchored on the ULRCโ€™s commitment to student well-being and academic excellence, Books and Bites 2026 aligned with SDG 2: Zero Hunger, SDG 3: Good Health and Well- Being, and SDG 4: Quality Education by providing students with light snacks and curated learning resources during examination week. Through nourishment, encouragement, and access to educational materials, the initiative promoted wellness, balance, and continuous learning in a supportive academic environment.
