On April 10, 2024, the Ignatian Youth Camp (IYC) 2024 came to a close with a day of celebration and farewells at the Magis Villa. Campers bid adieu to their newfound friends and mentors, reminiscing about the unforgettable experiences shared during their time together.
The highlight of the day was the recognition of outstanding campers who exemplified the spirit of camaraderie, leadership, and enthusiasm throughout the duration of the camp. Here are the esteemed winners of these awards:

ππ ππππ-πππππ! | WALKING IN THE DARK: IYC Campers Looking for Jesus Ahead
On April 10, 2024, as the curtains closed on the Ignatian Youth Camp (IYC) 2024, Fr. Xavier L. Olin, S.J. led the final Mass, delivering a poignant reminder to campers: βFear not the darkness, for it is through faith in Jesus' light that one finds guidance in life's journey.β
This resonant message not only echoed the core mission of the IYC β to embark on a collective journey β but also served as a fitting farewell as campers prepared to depart for home. As they bid farewell to the camp and each other, they carried with them the enduring light of faith and fellowship, ready to illuminate their paths ahead.

ππ ππππ-πππππ! | EMBRACE AND FEAST: IYC 2024 Campers Embracing Cultural Night and Boodle Fight
On April 9, the grounds of the IYC 2024 Magis Villa became a hub of cultural celebration and feasting as campers celebrate together for two memorable evening activities. The vibrant βCultural Night,β filled with showcased talents and skills in cultural dances and immersion, forged the way to embracing diversity and fostering an appreciation for various cultures through the lens of Ignatian values. The event gave campers a chance to celebrate the diversity of the Ignatian community and to showcase or witness various cultural heritage.
To conclude the celebration, participants engaged in the traditional dining of Boodle Fight. Taking part in a shared meal that honored Filipino culture and encouraged camaraderie among campers, this occasion not only highlighted the value of cultural exchange and group sharing in youth camps but also enhanced the camp experience by fostering mutual respect and compassion for diverse cultures.
Campers, through the activities, developed connections and a sense of unity by embracing diversity and promoting inclusivity, demonstrating the transforming power of cultural traditions in creating youth unity and camaraderie.

In a captivating evening at Magis Villa, Father Joel Liwanag SJ, a renowned spiritual leader, took attendees on a unique journey transcending the confines of time. The fourth night witnessed a remarkable Mass presided over by Father Joel, where congregants were not merely spectators but participants in a profound exploration of faith and history.
With eloquence and reverence, Fr. Joel asked attendees, βHave you ever thought about time traveling?,β inviting them to embark on a voyage through time, to an era steeped in the teachings and presence of the Lord.
As the Mass unfolded, Father Joel's words resonated deeply, weaving together past and present with seamless grace. Through scripture and reflection, he illuminated the timeless truths of unity, generosity, and compassion, inviting all present to reflect on their significance in today's world.

ππ ππππ-πππππ! | DIVERSE, DEVOUT, AND DYNAMIC: IYC 2024 Journey in Afternoon Activities
In a vibrant display of cultural immersion, spiritual exploration, and friendly competition after a morning filled with self-development and learning, the Ignatian Youth Camp (IYC) 2024 continues with more enriching activities. Starting from a thought-provoking lecture workshop, "Becoming Culturally Sensitive: A Mindanawon Experience," spearheaded by the esteemed guest speaker Jesus 'Jes' Allaga Montajes from MCAS. Held at the Magis Villa Open Space, participants engaged in lively discussions and creative exercises.
The four IYC 2024 Houses show off their skills in the activities of Diversity Snap & Jingle Making. Balay sa Pagbugsay prevailed as the Best Jingle for the one-stanza jingle-making activity. Whereas Bahay sa Pagakbay was crowned best Tableau, showing a story of cultural sensitivity in the context of Mindanao.
After that, the Magis Villa Activity Foyer was filled with anticipation as IYC 2024 campers gathered to "Meet the Jesuits." Against a backdrop of shared stories and spiritual insights from Jesuit priests, campers were able to deepen their understanding of faith and life's journey. Tales of faith served as a beacon of inspiration for the youth eager to explore their spiritual identities.
Adding to the spiritually and culturally rich day was the much-anticipated Mini-Olympics between Houses, hosted at the Magis Villa Foyer. Beyond the thrill of competition, cheers and yells were heard throughout. Participants were given the chance to show their skills and talents in basketball and volleyball, fostering the spirit of teamwork and sportsmanship.
