Shaping the Future of Blockchain Education in the Philippines

We are proud to announce the upcoming Blockchain Curriculum: Train the Trainers Program, a strategic initiative designed to equip educators with the knowledge, tools, and frameworks needed to integrate blockchain into academic institutions across the Philippines.

This program is made possible through the collaboration of:

Davao del Sur State College, ETHPH, Davao DeFi Community, LISK and Pelita Bangsa Academy.

We are honored to feature the ๐๐ž๐ฅ๐ข๐ญ๐š ๐๐š๐ง๐ ๐ฌ๐š ๐€๐œ๐š๐๐ž๐ฆ๐ฒ Team, an Indonesia-based institution with years of proven experience in successfully implementing blockchain curricula across Indonesia and Malaysia. Through this close partnership, we aim to enable a holistic and structured knowledge transfer to the Philippine academe.

This pilot run brings together esteemed universities across Mindanao, marking a critical first step toward nationwide adoption.

The Train the Trainers Program equips faculty to confidently deliver blockchain education through a balance of theory and real-world application. It includes an intensive 1-week training covering the full curriculum from fundamentals to advanced concepts, with hands-on project development to ensure classroom readiness.

This initiative also establishes a ๐๐ฅ๐จ๐œ๐ค๐œ๐ก๐š๐ข๐ง ๐‚๐ฎ๐ซ๐ซ๐ข๐œ๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ฆ ๐‚๐จ๐ง๐ฌ๐จ๐ซ๐ญ๐ข๐ฎ๐ฆ to guide implementation, scale training, and ensure long-term sustainability. Built on a tripartite model, it brings together:

Advancing innovation in IT education through collaboration.

The Council of Deans for IT Education XI (CDITE-XI) and the Philippine Society of Information Technology Educators XI (PSITE-XI), with the facilitation of CHED-XI, conducted a focused consultation meeting on the integration of IBM SkillsBuild Microcredentials into academic programs.

The discussion centered on developing effective strategies and implementation modelsโ€”ensuring these opportunities are accessible to students across various programs, strengthening faculty readiness, fostering stronger industry-academe collaboration, and reinforcing institutional support among member institutions.

This initiative underscores a shared commitment to equipping learners with future-ready skills through accessible, relevant, and globally recognized credentials.

A proud and meaningful milestone for IT education leadership!

The newly elected officers of the Council of Deans for IT Education (CDITE) XI have officially taken their oathโ€”marking not only a transition in leadership, but also a shared commitment to excellence, collaboration, and innovation in the IT academic community in the region.

The oath-taking ceremony was administered by CHED XI Regional Director Dr. Maricar R. Casquejo and witnessed by Education Supervisor for IT Engr. Rod Pangantihon Jr., along with CDITE-XI Adviser Dr. Randy S. Gamboa. Their presence underscores the strong support and guidance that continue to advance IT education.

Mission Accomplished! ๐Ÿš€

The RAISE-IT Davao initiative took a giant leap forward today at Luxebridge Suites during the Industry Consultation for ITE Curriculum and Practicum Manual. This milestone event brought together the regionโ€™s academic leaders and industry experts to bridge the gap between classroom learning and global IT standards.

We were honored to have Dr. Maricar R. Casquejo (Director IV, CHEDRO XI) share the vision for the ACHIEVE Agenda 2030, while Dr. Randy S. Gamboa provided critical insights into the new ITE Practicum Manual. A highlight of the day was the formal Signing of Commitment, solidifying our collective pledge to elevate IT education in Region XI.

The day concluded on a high note with a productive networking lunch and the election of new CDITE XI Officers to lead us into this new chapter.

A Day of Insight and Innovation at the PSITE Davao Region and CDITE XI General Assembly!

We are thrilled to report on the overwhelming success of our joint General Assembly Program, held last December 9, 2025, at St Mary's College of Tagum, Inc., Tagum City! Thank you to our gracious host for making this event possible.

The day was packed with crucial discussions shaping the future of IT education in Region XI. We kicked off with insightful Lighting Talks on the integration of Generative AI in Course Development and Programming by Mr. Jovito Bolacoy Jr., followed by Dr. Oneil Victoriano's presentation on Synergizing Academe-Industry-University Collaborations through the AdDU-CHED SKiPP initiative.

The Panel Discussion ignited a deep conversation on the Disruption/Displacement of white-collar jobs and the role of college educators in the next five years, featuring experts from various institutions and industry partners.

The afternoon session provided vital updates, including the latest from CHED RO XI by Engr. Rodrigo S. Pangantihon Jr. and an in-depth review of the OJT Manual by Dr. Randy S. Gamboa. The General Assembly concluded with important organizational matters, including the CDITE XI President's Report, and the successful conduct of the CDITE XI and PSITE Davao Election for our new set of officers.
