The mantra “A reader lives a thousand lives” does not mean living many physical lives. It means that when a person reads, they get to experience many stories, ideas, places, and emotions through books. A reader can travel to different worlds, understand different characters, and see life from many points of view—all through reading.

When learners read, their minds imagine, explore, and think deeply. They can relate to the story, feel what the characters feel, and learn lessons from their experiences. Reading feeds the mind, just like food feeds the body. It helps learners think better, dream bigger, and understand life more clearly. This is why reading is exciting—it allows the brain to “role-play,” discover new ideas, and go beyond the limits of time and place.

At Sirawan National High School, this mantra reminds us that strengthening reading proficiency is very important. Sirawan NHS Bags 1st Runner-Up in PASUNDAYAG 2025!

Sirawan National High School proudly showcased its talent and unity as it actively participated in the Pasundayag 2025 held in celebration of the 35th Araw ng Barangay Sirawan. The event, organized by the Barangay Local Government Unit, brought together various schools and community groups to celebrate the vibrant culture and achievements of Barangay Sirawan.

Sirawan NHS wowed the crowd with its creative performance that highlighted both artistry and teamwork. Competing against numerous participants, the school’s presentation stood out for its energy, coordination, and message—earning them the 1st Runner-Up spot in the competition.

The entire school community, led by the school head, teachers, and students, expressed joy and pride over this achievement. Their success in Pasundayag 2025 not only reflects the talent of Sirawanians but also their commitment to excellence and community involvement.

Last September 19, 2025, the Unit 3 Athletic Meet was successfully concluded with the participation of different schools in Cluster 5, including Sirawan National High School. With the theme “Aral-Aktibong Kabataan, Respetado at Matatag: Aralin ang Disiplina, Laban para sa Tagumpay,” the event became a meaningful avenue to showcase not only the athletic skills of students but also the values of discipline, sportsmanship, and camaraderie.

Sirawan National High School proudly celebrated the outstanding achievements of its student-athletes. In the wushu exhibition, Bha Jurnaden from Grade 10 Honesty shined as a gold medalist. While Rica Mae Oñate, Norhan Macmod , Sitti Ashya Piang and Muariif Catao also secured a silver medal. These victories were made possible under the guidance of their dedicated coaches, Sir Jayvee Buhion for wushu boys and Ma’am Zumera K. Paguital for wushu girls. In basketball 5x5, Hussain Omping from Grade 11 Justice and Ismael Alauya from Grade 12 Loyalty both qualified for the upcoming Unit 3 competitions, trained under the leadership of Coach James C. Lee.

The success of Sirawan National High School athletes is a reflection of their hard work and perseverance, strongly supported by their teachers, coaches, and fellow students. More importantly, these accomplishments are also the product of the continuing support of the school stakeholders, especially the Barangay Council of Sirawan, whose encouragement and assistance inspire the youth to excel in both academics and sports. Indeed, the athletic meet was not only a celebration of victories but also a testament to the unity and shared commitment of the community in nurturing disciplined, respected, and resilient learners.
