“Ano ang gusto mong maging paglaki mo?”

For many, the answers may vary—a teacher, a doctor, an engineer, or a lawyer. Yet among these noble professions stands one that is often misunderstood and overlooked: Social Work.

Being a social worker is far more than distributing aid, relief goods, or providing immediate assistance and saying, “Okay na, sapat na ang naitulong natin.” It is a profession rooted in compassion, service, empowerment, and social justice. Social workers walk alongside individuals, families, and communities as they navigate challenges, rebuild their lives, and rediscover hope.

Although their efforts often go unnoticed, the impact of social workers is reflected in every life they touch, every family they support, and every community they help strengthen. Through their dedication and genuine concern for others, they become instruments of change, hope, and healing.

On this Filipino Social Workers’ Day, we honor and celebrate all Filipino social workers for their unwavering commitment to serving the people, especially those who are vulnerable, marginalized, and in need of support. Their dedication reminds us that true service goes beyond providing assistance—it is about restoring dignity, empowering individuals, and advocating for social justice.

A special tribute is also extended to the social workers, educators, and mentors who continue to inspire and guide future professionals. Through your wisdom, patience, and dedication, you help shape individuals who are committed to upholding the values of service, dignity, and social justice.

May the Lord continue to bless all social workers with strength, wisdom, and compassion as they carry out their mission of empowering lives and building a more just and humane society.

"Maraming salamat sa inyong malasakit, sakripisyo, at walang sawang paglilingkod.”

Happy Filipino Social Workers’ Day!

Planting hope, protecting tomorrow 🌱

On April 27, 2026, the 4th Year Bachelor of Science in Social Work students turned purpose into action through a meaningful mangrove planting activity in Lasang. With hands in the mud and hearts full of commitment, we came together to protect our coastal communities, restore nature, and promote sustainable living.

This initiative goes beyond planting mangroves, it is a symbol of our dedication as future social workers to serve not only people but also the environment that sustains us. Each seedling represents resilience, unity, and a shared responsibility for a greener and safer future.

Growing roots, building change, and creating impact. One mangrove at a time. 💚✨
