Out of 183 participants from various schools, Lovely Hans Agape, a 4th year student from the College of Teacher Education, successfully secured a spot in the Top 29 Delegates of Battle of the Brains Season 3 by Falculan Twins Review Center held at the Grand CAP Auditorium, Davao City.

Her achievement highlights exceptional intelligence, skill, and dedication in this prestigious academic competition.

Congratulations as well to Keith Julia B. Pactulin and Noel Jay Ronquillo for their commendable performance and for proudly representing St. John Paul II College of Davao.

Around 600 students and volunteers gathered at the Mangrove Rehabilitation Area of Brgy. Matina Aplaya today, April 15, 2026, to plant 1,500 mangrove seedlings. Led by National Service Training Program (NSTP) Coordinator Ms. Fretlyn M. Lonzaga, the group worked together to restore the natural beauty and safety of the barangay's shoreline.

The activity brought together a large team of NSTP students, their instructors, and barangay volunteers. By planting over a thousand seedlings, the participants aimed to create a natural barrier against soil erosion and provide a better home for local sea life. This hands-on project allowed the students to apply their lessons in community service while making a real impact on the environment.

The 1,500 new mangroves will help protect the community from future storms and rising sea levels. The clean-up part of the program also focused on removing plastic waste that harms the ecosystem. The event ended successfully, leaving the Matina Aplaya coast cleaner and better prepared for the future.

The JPcean filmmaking community brings pride to the campus as “𝐃𝐮𝐚𝐰,” a short film by 𝐄𝐣𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐨 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 of St. John Paul II College of Davao, 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝟐𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚 𝐃𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐰𝐞𝐧𝐲𝐨 𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐦 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥 held as part of the celebration of the Araw ng Dabaw.

The film features 𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧 𝐋𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐳 and 𝐇𝐚𝐳𝐞𝐥 𝐈𝐧𝐚𝐡𝐢𝐝, 𝐝𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐚, 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐱𝐞𝐥 𝐃𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐥𝐚 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐬 𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐝𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫, and 𝐂𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐥𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐞 as film co-editor and sound designer. Their effort and creativity brought the story of Duaw to life, reflecting the passion and artistic excellence of JPcean student filmmakers.
Set against iconic Davao imagery and vibrant cultural elements, the film highlights themes of exploration and discovery as the characters journey through the city’s heritage and identity, symbolizing how local stories can resonate powerfully through cinema.

The institution proudly celebrates the team’s achievement, recognizing their dedication in representing the school and the city through film. The St. John Paul II College of Davao (SJPIICD) 3x3 Men’s Basketball team is heading to the national stage after a dominant performance at the Davao Region Private Schools Sports Athletic Association (PRISAA) Regional Games 2026.

In a high-stakes final held at the Agro Industrial Foundation Inc. grounds, the SJPIICD squad outlasted Cor Jesu College (CJC) with a gritty 11-7 victory, securing the regional championship and the right to represent Region XI.

The National PRISAA 2026 is scheduled to take place in Bacolod City from May 5 to 16, 2026. This national tournament will serve as the final battleground where the Davao champions will face off against the top private school teams from across the Philippines.

The championship roster features Dave Mamale, Bryan Zaragoza, Louie Sarip, and Feleciano Tumaob, who displayed remarkable chemistry under the guidance of Coach Howard P. Delgado. As they prepare for the national stage in the "City of Smiles," Coach Delgado and his players are expected to begin intensive preparations immediately to ensure a strong showing for the Davao Region this coming May.

The Business Administration department celebrated its 7th BA Day on March 14, 2026, as the St. John Paul II College of Davao (SJPIICD) quadrangle transformed into vibrant festival grounds. Guided by the theme “Next Gen Business: From Bold Ideas to Strategic Impact,” the event provided a high-energy platform for students to bridge the gap between classroom theory and real-world application.

The day-long celebration showcased the talents and skills of business students through a variety of engaging activities, including interactive booths, a competitive Quiz Bowl, and a persuasive Sales Speech competition. These activities highlighted students’ knowledge, creativity, and marketing abilities while encouraging participation and collaboration among future business professionals.

Adding color and energy to the event, participants embraced Coachella Party-inspired outfits, bringing a vibrant and festive atmosphere to the campus quadrangle. The celebration concluded with lively evening events, where students took the stage for the Sing and Dance Competition, entertaining the audience while celebrating camaraderie and school spirit among aspiring business leaders.

A total of 1,038 freshmen students from St. John Paul II College of Davao actively participated in a Hygiene and Sanitation Literacy Program conducted at Magallanes Elementary School and Kabacan Elementary School on Wednesday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

The outreach initiative, organized under the NSTP2-CWTS regular program, aimed to promote proper hygiene practices among young learners, particularly kindergarten and Grades 1 to 3 pupils. The activity was spearheaded by NSTP Coordinator Ms. Fretlyn M. Lonzaga and Community Extension Officer Mr. Gerardo Jr. D. Maraat, alongside NSTP instructors Ms. Guia Meer C. Bahinting, Ms. Mekhaila K. Torrejos, Ms. Charvie G. Mangoba, Mr. Roel A. Tangaro, Ms. Kharein Kaye S. Obial, Mr. Michaelson Jasper P. Duyan, Mr. Joshua Necesario, and Ms. Angela N. Andres.

One of the highlights of the event was the distribution of hygiene kits to the pupils after a demonstration on proper handwashing techniques, proper toothbrushing, and bathing, emphasizing its role in preventing the spread of diseases, providing them with essential items to practice what they had learned. A feeding program was also carried out at Kabacan Elementary School, further supporting the well-being of the pupils in the school.

All participating NSTP students contributed to the success of the event by preparing and facilitating the program, demonstrating their commitment to community service and public health awareness.
