MAGBASA AT MATUTO SA SALAYSAY AY SIGURADO: Salaysay National High School Conducts Orientation on DepEd's Newest Policy

Salaysay National High School, led by Principal Dr. Sulfecio Jr. P. Ingay, the Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) officers, and the dedicated faculty members conducted a school-wide orientation to educate students about Republic Act No. 12028, recently signed into law also known as the “Magna Carta for Public School Teachers and Non-Teaching Personnel.” This new law aims to improve protection, security of tenure, benefits, and working conditions for public school teachers and staff across the country.

The orientation took place last September 16 , 2025 held at the multipurpose hall of Salaysay National High School.The event gathered over 300+ students from different grade levels, all eager to learn more about national policies that directly impact the education system. With the joint efforts of school leaders and student officers, the session successfully highlighted the importance of civic awareness alongside academic excellence.

This orientation reflects Salaysay National High School's unwavering commitment to holistic education , one that empowers learners not only in the classroom but also as active, informed citizens of the nation.

‎TEACHER’S SMILE BRIGHT, SNHS DELIGHT

‎Last September 5, 2025, Salaysay National High School (SNHS) witnessed an early and meaningful celebration in honor of World Teachers’ Day, spearheaded by its Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) and the student body, alongside School Head Dr. Sulfecio Jr. P. Ingay. This initiative, which anticipated the annual Teachers’ Day commemoration on September 16, sought to underscore the enduring significance of educators in the students’ academic and personal development.

‎The ceremony commenced with the Philippine National Anthem led by Jackeylou Laidan, followed by a prayer delivered by SSLG President Raiza Rodse Sumahay. In her opening remarks, Sumahay established an atmosphere of gratitude and respect, which set an appropriate tone for the celebration. The careful planning and confidentiality maintained by the SSLG and students effectively heightened the surprise element, allowing the event to serve as a genuine expression of appreciation for the dedication and sacrifices of the teaching staff.

‎A notable moment during the program included a choral rendition of Yeng Constantino’s “Salamat” by the students, which functioned as a symbolic gesture of gratitude. This performance visibly uplifted the teachers, contributing to a sense of communal warmth and appreciation. Additionally, the SSLG organized recreational games exclusively for teachers, which fostered a spirit of camaraderie and allowed educators to engage with students in an unconventional, enjoyable context.

‎Dr. Ingay, together with SSLG officers, actively highlighted that the event transcended traditional celebrations, strengthening the school community’s bonds and affirming the crucial role of educators. The visible happiness and appreciation among the faculty served as testimony to the event’s positive impact.

‎The celebration was a reminder that, although Teachers’ Day is formally observed once a year, the respect and gratitude owed to teachers should be sustained daily. More than a mere gesture, the surprise event functioned as both a tribute to educators and an impetus for students to recognize the invaluable role their mentors play in helping them realize their potential.
