We would like to inform everyone that classes at MATS College of Technology will officially resume on Monday, January 20, 2025. All academic schedules and activities will proceed as planned on this date.

Meanwhile, enrollment is still ongoing, and we encourage students who have not yet completed their enrollment to finalize their registration as soon as possible.

Students are reminded to prepare all requirements, materials, and tasks in advance to ensure a smooth start to the term. Faculty and staff are likewise encouraged to finalize all necessary preparations before classes resume.

𝐃𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐨 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐓𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬, 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩 𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡

The Davao City Teen Center, under the City Health Office’s Population Division, continues to offer various services and assistance to the youth sector.

The facility is a safe haven for the youth since 2022, and also caters not only to the youth from the city but also those coming from neighboring cities and provinces.

The facility is open from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. from Monday to Friday.

Adolescents aged 10 to 24 years old may visit the Davao City Teen Center on Pelayo Street, Davao City, or the community-based teen centers, school-based teen centers, and rural health centers.

The Davao City Teen Center offers services to the youth including counselling services for Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) as well as for family planning for adolescents who are sexually active.

The facility also offers counselling for mental health and assists in the referral of clients to their partner agencies such as the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) and the Mental Health and Wellness of Davao City.

Norie Mae David, Population Division’s Adolescent Reproductive Health Program Coordinator, in an interview with the City Information Office said that the teen center aims to help address the issues and concerns of the youth sector to ensure that they aren’t put in drastic circumstances.

“Ang tumong gyu’d ani is ma-address nato particularly kadtong issues and concerns sa atoang kabatan-onan though ang cases sa teenage pregnancy nagababa man siya but still when you consider teenage pregnancy, it’s not okay (The purpose of the center is to address the issues and concerns of the youth, and although the cases of teenage pregnancy is decreasing, considering its circumstances, it’s still not okay),” she said.

David also bared that their office tailor fits the services they offer to the needs of adolescents to ensure that their clients receive the right services and assistance they need.

Currently, there are 33 certified adolescent-friendly health facilities in the city.

David added that for this year, their office is planning to conduct more capacity-building activities for services providers and adolescents to further the efficiency and effectiveness of the existing teen centers in the city.

Barangays are also urged to establish their own teen centers in order to assess and address the concerns and issues faced by adolescents within their areas of responsibility. CIO

In collaboration with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) officially kicks off the 2024 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW), a nationwide initiative running from November 25 to December 12, 2024.

MATS College of Technology proudly participates in this vital campaign, marking a significant step in the nation’s ongoing efforts to eradicate VAW, in alignment with Proclamation No. 1172 s. 2006 and the 20th Anniversary of the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act (RA 9262).

The theme for this year, "United for a VAW-Free Philippines," with the sub-theme "VAW Bigyang Wakas, Ngayon na ang Oras!" emphasizes the urgency of addressing gender-based violence and celebrates the important progress made over the past two decades.

As the Philippines leads Asia in gender parity, this campaign aims to empower individuals, communities, and the government to unite in creating safer spaces and stronger interventions against gender-based violence. It reinforces the message that “VAW is a public crime.”

The campaign’s goals include commemorating the 20-year impact of RA 9262, raising awareness about the different forms and consequences of VAW, and promoting the National Action Plan to End VAW (NAPEVAW) – a comprehensive strategy for ending violence against women in the country. Through the hashtags , , and , we work together to build a culture of respect and solidarity in the fight against VAW.

Now is the time to act for a safer, more equitable society, where violence against women is no longer tolerated.

Prayer is the first pillar of Islam that the Prophet (𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘣𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 𝘣𝘦 𝘶𝘱𝘰𝘯 𝘩𝘪𝘮) mentioned after mentioning the testimony of faith, by which one becomes a Muslim. It was made obligatory upon all the prophets and for all peoples. Allah has declared its obligatory status under majestic circumstances.

The importance of prayer is demonstrated in many of the Prophet’s statements. For example, the Prophet (𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘣𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 𝘣𝘦 𝘶𝘱𝘰𝘯 𝘩𝘪𝘮) said,
