π’ Good news for millions of workers across Australia!
From 1 July 2026, the National Minimum Wage and minimum award wages are increasing following the 2026 Annual Wage Review.
β
Whatβs changing?
β’ National Minimum Wage increases to $26.44 per hour or $1,004.90 per week (based on a 38-hour week).
β’ Minimum award wages increase by 4.75%.
β’ The new rates apply from the first full pay period starting on or after 1 July 2026.
β οΈ Important to know
If your pay cycle doesnβt begin on 1 July, your new pay rate starts from your first full pay period after that date. For example, if your weekly pay period starts on a Monday, the updated rate may begin from 6 July 2026.
π· Who does this affect?
The increase applies to eligible employees across Australia, including many:
β’ Temporary visa holders
β’ International students with work rights
β’ Working Holiday Makers
β’ Permanent residents
β’ Australian citizens
If youβre covered by a modern award or receive the National Minimum Wage, itβs important to check that your employer is paying you the correct rate.
